Christmas Eve Fondue and Pajamas!!

For Christmas Eve this year, we did fondue at my mom's. It was a lot of work to prepare all the food (there was tons of it), but worth it! And then of course our annual Christmas pajamas! I love this tradition and I can't wait to carry it on with my kids. My favorite part of this Christmas eve/Christmas was the snow!! It made it seem so much more like Christmas. Brandon, my dad, and Tegunn went out and shoveled every 15 minutes, and of course Greg was out in the snowplow plowing the roads of Perry! I forgot my camera so didn't get a lot of pictures. I will post a few more when Riley sends them to me! When we went back to the Goldsberry's, we sat in front of the window and just watched it snow. Brandon's mom said that we were just like little kids!

To our family and friends...

This is going to be our Christmas letter. I just wasn't on top of it enough to get one sent out this year! And.. they aren't that fun when there are no pictures and no kids.. so this will have to do!
This last year has been a good one for us and seems to have gone by REALLY fast, which I can't decide is a good or bad thing.
We don't have a whole lot of excitement in our lives.
Brandon is still doing school full time. He has hit his half way mark in school. Only 4 more semesters total--2 course work and 2 internship (hopefully paid). This means that he will be done spring of 09. We hope to eventually end up in Logan, but we might have to wait awhile to get to that point. He is really loving the career that he has chosen. He realized it mostly when he was able to do his internship this summer in Idaho Falls. He stayed with my grandparents in Driggs. He was able to work directly with patients and build relationships with them as he got to practice what he has been learning. He was always excited to tell me about the new stuff that he learned or new exercises he gained while working with the patients. He was sad to leave the people that he worked with and the patients, but glad to get back home after 10 long weeks of being apart. Thank goodness that we got to see each other on the weekends, or I think I would have gone crazy! We had a little break in that 10 weeks that most of you know about.. Brandon had a ruptured appendix and had to have emergency surgery and was in the hospital for close to a week. It was hard emotionally, mentally, financially, and physically for both of us. It took Brandon a long time to become himself again, but we are just grateful that he is still alive and with us! I am so grateful that I listened when the spirit told me to take him to the ER! I don't even want to think what would have happened! For more details... see june and july posts!
I started working from home right around the time that this happened, which worked out really well so that I was able to take care of Brandon but still be able to work. I am still working for the state, Department of Workforce Services, as an eligibility specialist. I really like it, especially because I get to work in my pj's! I do miss the social aspect of being in the office, but I am also able to get more stuff done around the house on my breaks and try to workout in the mornings without getting up too early! I love the challenges that this job brings and every situation is different and I learn new things every day.
Brandon has kept very busy with fantasy football this fall. He has never gotten so into the NFL and usually only follows college football. I have begun to really hate football, but I guess he needs something to fall back on as his AGGIES are not the best team and hard to stay so loyal to, but that he does!
Brandon and I both serve in the primary in our ward. I have been teaching the 11/12 year old girls. Brandon was just called to serve with me and we will be the rotating couple filling in when needed. We are excited to be able to prepare the lessons together and use this opportunity to learn and strengthen our testimonies as we teach. We enjoy the ward and area that we are in, and have developed good friendships while we have been here. We also love having so much family so close to us and having the opportunities to watch the nieces and nephews and spend time with them.
We have truly been blessed and look forward to the other blessings that may be in store for us.

Can we be Mary and Joseph without a baby? Hmmm, anyway this was for our ward party.. we went to Bethlehem. The people did a really good job. Thanks to Jen we had some stuff to wear!! I just thought the last picture was really funny! :)

OH CHRISTMAS TREE!!

This is our Christmas tree. We usually put our tree up in the corner and hardly anyone ever comes to our house. This year, I figured that it was too much work if nobody is going to see it, so ee had to do some rearranging with our furniture so that it could be in front of the window. I wanted people to be able to see it!! But nobody can see the best part.. the tree skirt. I have been looking for a tree skirt to match my green and red tree, but I am just too dang picky and have to have it matching exactly, so I finally decided to just make one. Yeah.. that was an adventure, but I did it and I actually kind of like it. It looks a lot better in person.. it is hard to see the green ornaments against the green tree, but those are my colors and had to stick with em! :) Our tree is also a hand me down, so no judging!

First Snow!!!

Yes... I know that I am a little late, (as always) but we got our first snow the other night. It snowed throughout the day! We had close to 8 or 9 inches! It was crazy. It had actually snowed a little the night before. Brandon and I were on our way home from somewhere that night and I love the look of fresh snow.. everything covered in white and the light shining on it. I love when the trees are covered in white too. Beautiful! There is a place just across the road that I love right after it snows.. it looks so cool. I tried to take a picture.. but they weren't very good. I will post them anywayThis is out my front window.. I didn't want to go outside.. way too cold! :)

15 of my favorite things.

Wow! I feel like Oprah! J/K! My stuff is not near as good as her stuff! I wish! So.. some of these might be kind of old stuff.. but I still love them. I am the kind of person that usually sticks with things that I like and don't change much!!

1-- Special K red berries cereal/waffles. I really like any of the special K products. Brandon got me stuck on the cereal awhile ago when I said I wanted to find a healthy cereal. He suggested that not knowing how expensive it was and would become! :) I just found the frozen waffles and love them!! I have to now watch for the cereal to go on sale.. 4.12 (at walmart) is a little steep for me right now! I know.. I am cheap!

2--scentys. These are so cool. I love that the scent is so strong and you can smell it all over the apartment. I also love that you can change them out every once and awhile. And with all that.. perfectly safe!

3--Mirabella makeup. I have been using this for quite awhile also. Elise took me to a little makeup party open house thing at Fran Brownlike 5 years ago as they were introducing this. They put it on me and I loved it. I have been wearing it ever since. Cute colors.. and good quality makeup for reasonable prices! I love the lip glosses especially.

4--800/1000 thread count HOME sheets from Target. I say 800/1000 because last black friday I bought the 800 thread count and we absolutely LOVE them, so I really hoped that they would have them again this year. Well.. this year they had 1000 thread count. I bought them but haven't put them on yet, because I thought I might want a different color and they don't have the different color in yet!

5--my new micro fleece blanket from Target. Super soft and warm! We put ours on our bed. Very nice! Also got this on black friday.

6--PROACTIV! I don't even know what my life would be like without this stuff! Seriously.. I should be on an infomercial for it! I LOVE IT! I never had really bad acne untill my junior year in college (21-22). I totally broke out.. my face always felt like it was burning and on fire and I would try to hide it, but there wasn't anyway. I went to the dermatologist and we tried different things, but it was getting worse. My last option was to do ........., but my mom refused to let me, so we tried ProActiv. My face cleared right up and all the scars went away! I never thought my face would be normal again, but this stuff saved my life! I look back at pictures and all I can say is OUCH! I still remember how it feels just looking at the pictures! I still use the proactiv and don't dare stop using it! I can tell if I even miss one night! I guess I am just one of those unlucky people who has adult acne.

7--Hot chocolate/cocomotion. YUM!! I love when it gets cold enough to start drinking hot chocolate. I love to cuddle up and drink hot chocolate. It is even better to make it in the cocomotion to mix it up perfectly.

8--Car power adapter. I don't even know if this is what it is called really, but it plugs into your cigarette lighter in your car and it is a power outlet so anything you can plug in at home, can plug in in the car! On our ride to st. george we hooked up brandon's laptop and watched movies (I know.. that is what portable dvds are for, but we don't have one of those). I just remember thinking like 8 years ago how cool it would be if you were running late one day and you could blowdry your hair in the car. Well.. now you can!

9--chocolate strawberries. I have always loved these! I love strawberries and to add chocolate to it! YUM!!

10-- Any scrapbook supplies. I love to just go to Roberts and look at all the fun scrapbooking stuff. They have so much cute stuff! I find myself buying all this stuff and I just store it and don't do anything with it! I really am going to pick up where I left off and start being a good scrapbooker again. I especially LOVE ribbon.

11-Mary Kay eye makeup remover. This stuff is great! I have used it for who knows how long, but I love it to remove the eye makeup that doesn't like to come off with just a normal facewash!

12--My "SLEEK" shampoo. Again, I think I have used this for like 5 years, but I really really like it. My hair gets really snarly and hard to comb out with most shampoos. This makes it so easy to comb and really soft. Thanks Cara for gettin it in the gallons for me! :)

13-- my fuzzy socks. You can get them at Target. Really I don't know what they are made out of, but SUPER soft and warm. My feet always are so cold and they are awesome for working at home and I don't want to put shoes on!

14--my black down puffy coat. I got this last year for christmas. It is from old navy. I love it because of course warm for the cold winter and you can dress it up or just wear it casual.

15--Sani wipes. These are basically the clorox wipes, but the cheap kind. I love that they sanitize all surfaces and make cleaning really easy. Good also when you live with a germ freak! :)

Christmas Candy!

What would Christmas be without the Goldsberry candy making extravaganza? Okay, so not really an extravaganza, but it is a tradition. Every year Brandon's parents say no more because it is too much work, but Brandon insists that they keep doing it (just like the salsa), so we get to be the helpers! :) It is actually kind of fun and a tradition that we will continue to look forward to. I don't think that we have missed a year since we have been married. I think that we might be the ones to take over and carry on the tradition! :) We make nut balls (like the ones at idle isle and peanut clusters. I got to do the chocolate this year! What a job! My hands were covered in chocolate! It was hard not to lick them constantly.. no worries.. I didn't! :)

Turkey Day!!

This year Brandon and I went to St. George for Thanksgiving. It was nice. Not nearly the crowd we are used to with the Bergeson's, but it was still fun! I think that it took us about 5 minutes to eat and we were done! :)
I just have to say that I am thankful for EVERYTHING. That is the simplest way to put it. I think one the the biggest things that I have realized this year is that I am so thankful to have food in our fridge and our pantry. It could have a lot to do with my job (dealing with people who don't have this on a daily basis) and having such a strict budget to live on, but I found myself staring at my pantry the other day and couldn't get over how blessed we have been. I know.. that is really lame, but it is true. I am extremely grateful for Brandon too of course, my family, and my testimony! Those are just a few to begin with.. I won't list the rest because they are endless! What a fun time of the year to remember and focus on the things we are thankful for!!

Sorry!

I know, I know.. I really need a new post.. I have been meaning to do one for awhile, but other things are taking priority! I worked longer hours so I didn't have to take as much time off on Friday. I had to catch up on things and get ready for our trip to St. George and watch all my shows! I am so mad about how the Bachelor turned out. What is his problem? Anyway.. I have some pictures from this weekend at our fun santa's workshop primary activity and our weekend with Tee and Trey that I want to post, but they might have to wait and be posted with the Thanksgiving pics! :) I promise I will get them on eventually!! Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! Remember to be thankful for everything that you have! I know that I am!!

Primary activity-- santas workshop

On Saturday, just before the boys came, we had a primary activity. Yes.. I am still in the primary. I have spent most of my adult life in primary! :) I guess it is good for me and I am really grateful for that calling! Brandon came to help also. He comes in and teaches with me,although it is not his calling! It was a Santa's workshop theme. The kids were all asked to bring clothing items for children their same size for children at the Christmas box house. This is a shelter type place for children. When I did my internship at DCFS, we had a case that the children stayed here for a little bit untill their dad got out of jail and I was the one to take them back and forth to and from school. What an interesting experience! I felt so bad that they had to go here away from the things that they were so used to. Their house was very stinky and unclean and the father was not very well at parenting. The 12 year old pretty much took care of the father and the other kids, but I could tell that they all loved each other and they just wanted to have their dad back. They were not excited about going to the shelter at all. Their mom had just died and they had no other family close, so this was the only option. I saw that they still had that love, which made me feel a bit better, but it made me so much for grateful for my parents and the wonderful life that they have provided for me! I had so many experiences there that I will never forget to make me so grateful for what I have. I think I told my parents every day thanks for the life they provided me with! I was very grateful.
A girl from there came and talked to the children about what they do and told us some stories about the kids that are there. HOW SAD! It made me cry to think that some kids have to live in these circumstances, but so grateful for places like this to care so much about them!
We made toy cars and wrapped the clothing and other toys for the children that would be there on Christmas morning. It was a good feeling to be able to help put a smile on the kids faces on Christmas morning!

We watched the boys over the weekend while Lyss and Greg celebrated their anniversary. They kept us busy. They woke up in the night and Trey was out in the kitchen wandering. I don't think he quite knew where he was! Poor guy. I finally heard his little whimper cry and got up to get him and put him in the bed with us. Then Tee woke up and I knew it would never work with both of them in bed, so I laid on the floor with them till they fell asleep again. I had to keep waking up to make sure they were still breathing!! I know, I am idiot! :) They were so good and so much fun! Tee wanted to play Brandon's playstation games all night. It was hilarious to watch him. He isn't quite old enough to get how to do it, but it kept him entertained pretty well. Trey just sat and watched. Tee couldn't wait to put on his new Optimus Prime pajamas! :) We took them to church with us and totally underestimated our time in the morning! We left our house a disaster so we could make it somewhat on time!! :) Guess that is life with kids! They were so good at church! It was lots of fun. I didn't get a whole lot of pictures, because this is pretty much what they did all night! i hope that they had as much fun as we did! :) Glad that you can work up to having two kids at a time! :) We were so worn out, but worth it!

UTAH STATE AGGIES!!

I know this is really late, but I am posting anyways. I have a ton of pictures to update on. I am posting on the dates that they really happened.
We always have so much fun going to the Utah State basketball games. Their team is not the greatest right now, but pretty good considering they have 7 freshman and 4 returning--or somethin like that! This one they won by pretty high. We played SUU. Thanks to Kenny for getting us tickets! We went with my Dad and Darrin (Brandon's brother). We ate at Firehouse before.. this is our new favorite. We have to make sure there is enough time to stop and eat before the games!!

Happy Birthday to Dad!!

It was my Dad's birthday on Nov 7th. We decided to do a surprise thing for him. We all met in Layton at Olive Garden. He thought that he was just going to dinner with Matt and Cara, but we were all there when he got there. He was quite surprised!! It was fun to get together with everyone! Love you Dad!

Late Halloween

I know it is lame that I am just posting Halloween pictures, but our internet has been really slow, but we got it fixed, so here goes. We spent the night with Bart and Jen's family. We went trick or treating with the kids. It was so much fun to watch the kids. We only had to pick up spilled candy twice! :) One of their neighbors does homemade doughnuts and hot chocolate! YUM!! Spencer kept calling them cookies! :) Cara and Matt and Hadlee (zebra) came to see us there too. I didn't get any pictures and I didn't get to see Tee (jack sparrow) and Trey (lion) and the rest of Brandon's fam (nephews and nieces). I don't like not being able to see them all, but you can see hadlee, tee, and trey on their blogs!!

Happy Halloween....4 years together!!

Well, guess it is time for my weekly post and what better day to do it than the anniversary of mine and Brandon's first date!!! Yes, our first date was on halloween of 03. It is so funny to look back! We went to the BEHS championship game--where it snowed and I was very not prepared! I froze!! Brandon's dad and friend nate came with us. I didn't dare say how cold I was because I knew Brandon wanted to stay. I ended up sharing a blanket with Nate for some reason and finally Brandon gave me his gloves. Brandon's dad thought I was on a date with Nate! :) I kept waiting for Brandon to scoot closer to me to keep me warm or somethin, but he didn't! We had some hot chocolate and went back up to Logan where we went to Ruby Tuesday and ate with a bunch of people and then went to my apt and watched a scary show. Brandon wouldn't even get close to me.. I think towards the end, he finally put his hand on my leg. I thought.. Okay.. no first kiss for a long time, but surprise.. on date #3 he kissed me! He won't admit to this day that he initiated it, but I promise.. it was all him! :)
I was nervous about dating someone from work in case it didn't work out, but I really liked him, so decided that it would be okay. We kept it from people at work for like a month! I even remember hiding in the corner at his apartment when his sister came over!! I am not quite sure why! :) How dumb!
We didn't talk for a couple days after our first date. I was over at my friends apt a couple nights later (in the same complex) and got brave and went to talk to him. He wasn't there.. so I left a note and he called me and we pretty much were inseperable after that! :) Weird thing.. he lived in the same apartment that Steph lived in our freshman year and I spent so much time there that year (when steph lived there) and the year that we were dating. I think i was at that apartment the MOST of any other apartment I ever lived in!
We ususally like to go out and celebrate, but Brandon has a presentation he has to do for tomorrow. If he gets it done we might go out or just carve some pumpkins.
I went visiting teaching last night and found out that one of the girls I go to, her and her husband's first date was on halloween, engaged in feb and married in june.. all one year later than ours! That is so crazy!
It was all worth it and I am so glad that Brandon asked me out 4 years ago. I can't imagine my life without him!! We are so happy and love each other more than anything! Brandon is my best friend and I love so many things about him! We are very grateful to have wonderful friends and family that support us in all that we do! We are extremely grateful for the gospel and how it has helped to strengthen our relationship as well. Okay.. I am stopping before it sounds like a testimony! :)
I will try to post a fe pictures of us when we were dating later tonight.. I am on my work computer right now and can't.

My summer wedding 6.18.04

So, I guess I will post my wedding pics too since everyone else is and Steph gave me a good excuse to post them. It is so hard to pick just a couple!
I absolutely LOVED my wedding day! I wish I could live it over and over! I always wanted a summer wedding so that I could have my reception outside! When we talked about getting married I said it had to be in the summer. so we had our temple date set the next day and weren't officially engaged till almost 3 months later!
I knew that I loved Brandon then and everyone always said how much our love would grow day by day and didn't believe that could happen, but now I can see what they mean! :) I am so glad that we started it all off right and in the temple! I am so glad I get to be with Brandon for eternity!
The weather was good untill the reception and then it got so windy.. we had to move all the tables and stuff inside the basement! At that point I so didn't care! WE didn't get any pictures of the tables, which I am bummed because they were really cute. I think we might have gotten one picture.. but can't remember where it is or who took it.


A special thanks to my wonderful parents! Wow! 2 weddings within a month!! They sacrificed a lot and did a ton to make our weddings PERFECT!! Thanks to Brandon's parents for all that they did to help.. (shopping, planting flowers, etc).

It was new the year I got married and not a lot of people had it! it was a couple sizes bigger than I needed, but they we able to alter it and it worked PERFECT!

My cake.. I think that this was one of my most favorite things! It was supposed to be a little more of a LIME green and the flowers just on top of it, but it is okay I still loved it!
I am not really sure what to even call this. This was my grandma's idea.. Brandon pushed me in this wheelbarrow down the street to our car! Everyone ran down the street with us! Kind of random, but something I will never forget!

That is a lot of fun to go look at those wedding pictures again. I haven't looked at them in awhile! It makes me want to watch my wedding video now! please anyone that wants to post their wedding pics, but waiting for an excuse.. just post them! :)
