On The Road to Recovery!!

Just an update on surgery. Everything went good. When the dr's office called to schedule the surgery they notified us that they don't accept our insurance, which is super dumb because we went to St. Marks and they accept our insurance. Anyway.. we called the dr that did his appendix surgery and they were able to sqeeze him in today. He also got his "butt" scar fixed! We will see how it looks! The doctor said one of the tubes into his gall bladder was too small to get a camera in to check for stones. The small tube is probably what caused his problems and that is straight genetics! We are home and and recovering. He is in pain so hopefully we can get him sleeping and on the road to feeling normal again! The thing he wants most is a hamburger. Yeah.. I think that will have to wait at least a couple days or weeks! Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers!

I will explain the "Butt" scar. We had some issues with Brandon's appendix incision. Shortly after he came home from his week stay at the hospital we took his bandage off so that he could shower. well...he came into the room and said "um... is this normal?" HE HAD A HOLE IN HIS STOMACH! Not just a small hole either and it was almost an inch deep! I had to lay down on the floor and put my feet up to stop from passing out! I was like.. "UM, NO! call the doctor! " His incision had popped open. They decided it was best for it to heal from the inside out so they left it open. That happens sometimes with a ruptured appendix because there is so much infection inside.. that is the only way it can come out! We had to change the bandage morning and night and I couldn't look at it or i would throw up, so I would take the tape off and Brandon would take the rest off and put a new gauze bandage on and I would tape him up! It was so nasty! I have some pictures when it was close to being healed up but you can still see the hole.. I won't post them.. don't worry. Anyway... the scar was super ugly and HUGE when it healed and made it look like he had a second butt on his stomach, but I couldn't complain.. at least it wasn't a hole! The scar was about half an inch thick and you could see the stretch marks from it and he had two big bumps on the sides of it! UGLY! So whent he dr told us he didn't want his name on that and was going to fix it.. we were excited! I was going to take before and after pictures of the scar, but I totally forgot! We took the bandages off and looked at it..we were both super nervous of what it would look like.. but very thin and unnoticeable..the bumps are gone and Brandon is wondering if they did some lipo while he was in there! :) It looks really good! Thanks to Dr. Vorhees!

It's COMIN OUT!!

Yep.. that is right.. chalk up another surgery for poor Brandon! The same gall bladder pain came back last night, so we headed to ER once again. I have been to that ER enough for a lifetime! NO MORE!! Luckily it wasn't too busy and they got us right in. He was in so much pain! He took some percocet left over from last time before we left and it didn't kick in till 45 minutes later. They were going to give him more pain meds, but Brandon said he was ok--he doesn't do good with those meds! The lab results came back showing nothing too serious and no infection so they scheduled the surgery for Wednesday and told him to keep on top of the pain meds till then to avoid the pain. DANG IT! I thought we could avoid another surgery when it started feeling better! I might ask if they can just take everything out that he doesn't need or that could go wrong NOW! :) It is outpatient surgery so we shouldn't have as big of a bill as the last surgery! Guess it is better now while we have pretty good insurance than later! Life is crazy! You never know what will happen next! Oh and while I was putting on my sweatshirt to go out the door, my glasses busted in half--so yet another expense! We love the adventures that we have been given! :)

WATCH OUT COUGARS!

OK, I am totally kidding!!! I couldn't help it! The Aggie victory over the "kittens" will come in December..go STEW and the GANG!! But hey, the AGGIES won a FOOTBALL game!! One day we might be up to par to PLAY and WIN with some good teams. We were watching it on T.V. (Brandon refuses to go to the games--he will be too upset and he says it is a waste of time and money---I know that you are all amazed! ) and we couldn't believe what we were seeing! Too bad it wasn't against a better team! We will definately not be going to the BYU/USU game. Brandon would probably end up hurting too many people so it is best that we stay away. I have to say he has rubbed off on me and I might hurt a few also--sorry friends! :) Just remember.....our colors have never changed, ours is the TRUE AGGIE BLUE!

The things/people you see at good ol' Walmart!!

Since my blog has been a little boring, I had to add this! Brandon and I went to Walmart to grab a few things. Our Walmart sucks and is packed and the aisles are tiny. I was behind this lady turning the corner. She was super slow and it looked like she had a big circle of rope that she was hanging onto. I didn't think anything of it till I got closer and saw it!

THEY ARE HER FINGERNAILS!!! I have heard of this, but never thought in my life I would see it for real!! They are just brown and about 3 feet long!! I had to pick my jaw up off the floor and had to get a picture! It isn't very good, cus I didn't want her to know I was taking a picture! Now I am wishing I would have stopped her and asked how long it took her to grow those things!! Brandon's first question was "How does she wipe her butt?" :) How does she do anything for that matter! She was pushing the cart with her palms face forward and with the tips of her fingers! I didn't stick around to see how she got things off the shelves! I hope you get a kick out of this as much as I did!

9. I just have to add one more.. don't buy Hyundai's! :) Sorry for all of those that own one. I will just never in my life buy another one! Mine was such a money pitt and we ended up putting so much money into it and it was still a piece of junk! It was only 5 years old and we had to put a 3000.00+ transmission in it because all the lines to the transmission were bad too!! I REALLY learned an expensive lesson!

1. Toyota Highlander. It ws originally a Sequoia, but there are really big and really expensive, so I went down to a highlander! :) They are at least reasonable and the gas mileage is about the same as a van.. Brandon cannot win that argument!

5. bikes---when we watched kids over the weekend awhile back, I got on one of the older kids' bikes and rode it around. I always see people riding bikes as couples. It really makes me want bikes for Brandon and I... maybe for Christmas or with our tax return!

The Party!

Here are the pictures from Brandon's party finally! I so do not take good pictures and I didn't have a chance to take a lot of pictures! We changed it to be in the church so we had to come up with a different plan to get Brandon there.. Joe called him to say we were all meeting at the church to play ball, so he walked in with basketball clothes on! :) He still says that he had no idea and was super surprised! I didn't have my camera with me either when he walked in! Whoops! It turned out pretty good and it was so fun to see everyone and spend time with you all!! Thanks so much for coming! We had so many yummy treats and great fun! Thanks everyone for your time and your help! We love you all!





Cara and I made the cake. Please...no judging! It is our first fondant cake ever! The blue paint is a mess! I think that it turned out pretty good for our first time! I now know why cake makers charge so much for fondant cakes! :) Good thing Matt was there to help us roll out the rock hard fondant! Cara and I couldn't even stretch it out with two of us!

I can have a husband during football season!!

I know that we are super behind on things, but I am happy to announce that we finally got DVR!! We have been talking about it for awhile and finally just did it. Last fall I got so mad because Brandon never wanted to do anything because he would miss watching his games. I decided it was so worth having DVR so that we could have a life! It is worth the extra price! I will now have a husband during football season and I won't have to time everything around the football games and shows I want to watch!!
P.S. I will post some pictures of the party tomorrow!

Someone is 30 today!!!

Wow!! My husband is old! j/k I always wanted to marry someone a few years older than me...mostly so that they would be done with school quickly! Well.. one of those wishes came true! :) I remember like 10 years ago I was in a scrapbook store and this lady was doing an invitation for her husband's 30th birthday. It sounded so fun and seemed like SO far away to when I would get to do that for my hubby! The time is here! :) I will stick with blog tradition and post 30 things about Brandon.. I was making my list and Brandon asked what I was doing. I told him and he said.. how about you only do 20! :) I am so glad that he is my husband. He seriously is the best and I feel like I don't deserve to be his wife and I constantly ask what I did to be so blessed! He is so good to me and I love him more than anything!

I have been worried sick about the party! It is supposed to be at the park and of course the day I plan it is a HORRIBLE weather day. Thank goodness.. my brother-in-law called and told me he would open his church for us to use if we needed. I am so relieved! I was able to get a lot done this weekend without having him ask questions and trying to hide it from him while he was in Vegas watching the Aggies loose!! He said he isn't wasting his time and money going to the games this year! That is BAD when someone that loyal and obsessed won't even go to the games! He says he doesn't blame the players...it is the coaching! Maybe one day we can be good again!
