Do I really have to???

We had a doctor's appointment yesterday. It was time for the glucose test. I have been so worried about having gestational diabetes that I worried myself sick untill Brandon had enough and told me to stop worrying. If anything sugar is what I have definitely eaten more of while pregnant!! I ate my candy bar and drank my juice and wanted to throw up. I do like sugar, but all at once is WAY too much and I think the last time I ate a whole candy bar that fast was maybe in Junior HIGH!
The glucose test came back and I had nothing to be worried about. It was not even close to having gestational diabetes, but... I am borderline ANEMIC!! They like your level to be between 12-15 and mine is 10.7!! They say the low 10's are anemic!! YIKES!!! I am in trouble! My prenatal vitamins even have extra IRON!!! Dr. H told me to start eating MORE RED MEAT!! AGH!! DISGUSTING!!! He gave me some iron supplements and told me to take those too. Brandon was thrilled that someone else finally told me that we need more MEAT in our lives!! I have never been a meat eater!! I can't stand the texture of the meat and I CAN"T stand chewing and chewing and chewing!! I have tried numerous times and I just can't do it! One thing that I will eat... little steak strips that my mom marinates and cooks on the grill. I might have to eat those constantly!!!

THE BABY...
The doctor says that being anemic won't affect the baby at all, but it will definitely affect my recovery! I guess that is motivation enough.
She is breech right now. Good thing that we have 11 weeks to go so she can turn the right way! She again wouldn't let us see her face.. we could only get a little profile with the placenta in the way! LITTLE STINKER! She is weighing in at an estimate of 3 pounds right on (that little side counter is WAY off) and everything is looking good! Brandon was born at only 2 pounds more than that!!
It is so crazy to think that we are going to be having a baby in 11 weeks or possibly even sooner!! We are still so excited!! I keep asking Brandon if he is even nervous at all and he says no every time and I really believe it! Maybe because he doesn't have to give birth to the child and get up all the time to feed!! I have to admit as excited as I am.. I am a tad bit nervous, but I think it is normal and will all be worth it!!

IS IT REALLY HERE?

I know that Brandon's graduation isn't for a couple weeks still, but I wanted to do this post now, because he finished his internship, which is the last step of his "training/education", except of course for the official graduation and the board exam.

After almost 3o years of school.......
he is at the end!!!

He is so excited to be done and has been counting down the days!! We were talking the other day about how weird to have your goal and something that you have been working towards your whole life actually happen.. Now what? It is SO exciting and a little scary at the same time!

I can't believe that it is actually time for this to be happening. The last 3 years have GONE by SO fast... for me anyway.. not so sure it has gone that fast for Brandon. I remember when we moved to SLC and to think of 3 years, it felt like FOREVER. Well.. guess what? We made it and it really IS time for GRADUATION!!
Here is the announcement that we sent out ( I was too cheap to buy the real ones)/ I can't get it to go bigger.. I will work on it and post the other one for the actual ceremony!

I can't even begin to express how PROUD I am of Brandon!! I was SO emotional all day on Friday thinking about how far Brandon has come and how much he has accomplished!! I found myself in tears a couple times because I was so excited and SO proud of him! I am sure the emotions are a little out of control, thanks to our little growing baby girl!! Note to self: Take tissues to graduation!! I will be a mess!

Some of the qualities on my "future husband list" was a person that had high goals, someone who had more education than I did, and someone that would choose a successful career and make something of himself. CHECK! CHECK! CHECK! I never had any doubts that Brandon would make this happen and I won't stop believing in him to keep setting his goals and aspirations high!! He is so determined and I feel SO BLESSED to have him as my eternal companion. I have no idea what I did to deserve him..but I am sure glad he is mine! :) It is so fun to watch someone that means so much to you accomplish something this HUGE in their lives.
He has worked so HARD to get to this point!! He has spent so much time studying and doing his very best. There have been times he has been very stressed, but kept going to make sure that he could provide an excellent future for our family!! It hasn't been an easy road by any means, but we are so glad to be able to have learned and grown SO much as a couple! I can't wait to have our evenings together and not having to study and work on school stuff all the time!
He has done NUMEROUS projects and even completed his doctorate project successfully (doesn't sound one bit fun to me), that hopefully will be published in a medical journal in the future with the help of his professor. I also have to brag for a second about how stinkin' smart my hubby is!
He is graduating with a 3.8 GPA!!
That is in a DOCTORATE program, people!
I would have failed before the first class even started!!
I would like to send that GPA to some of those schools that rejected him and show them what they missed out on!! Again, I am SO proud of Brandon and the huge goal that he has accomplished and I know that he will make an EXCELLENT PHYSICAL THERAPIST!! I LOVE YOU HONEY!!!

We know that we couldn't have gotten to this point without the support, love, and help of the Lord and all of our family and friends!! WE LOVE YOU ALL!! THANK YOU!!

I had to spoil Brandon with some gifts for making it this far.
I will keep the big and exciting things for his actual graduation day!

I really hate posting these, but for all of you wanting to see how HUGE I really am.. HERE YOU GO!!
For those of you still wondering about the name... I am really sorry.. just not quite ready to make the big announcement yet!

Bergeson reunion!!!

We had a little Bergeson get together last weekend in St. George. I shouldn't say little because the family isn't so little anymore!! We were only missing about 14 people total. We had lots of fun!! It is always good times when we get together... good food, good laughs, and always good entertainment. The girls definately outnumber the boys and I will add one more to the mix.

We have 5 new babies that will be born into the Bergeson family in 2009!! 3 girls, 1 boy.. and one unknown. We know how to obey the commandment to multiply and replenish the earth. Thanks to my CUTE Grandma and Grandpa that started all this! We love and admire their faith, their determination, and their love for everyone!! GrandPa was diagnosed with cancer almost 10 years ago and was only given 3-5 years to live and is still fighting!! Grandma has recently been diagnosed with cancer too and has fought has hard as ever to put up with all the treatments. WE LOVE YOU GUYS! Brandon has loved having Grandparents since we got married as he never knew his and loves talking to a fellow AGGIE! Here they are in thier cute little DI outfits.. See below for more explanation.

Years and years ago we used to do DI Christmases and we would draw names and go to DI and pick out gag gifts for the person we drew. We decided to do this again for a good laugh. I remember when I was really little, my cousin got me a football helmet and I started bawling! We had a good time in DI and opening the gifts later that night! I can't post too many pictures.. I would get in trouble. Brandon said only the Bergeson's could do this and make it so entertaining!! There were some creative gifts and outfits. The rule is that you have to put on what you get.. luckilly all I got was a hideous elephant candle holder and didn't have to put anything on. My Grandpa had Brandon and got him a BYU T-shirt. He was a good sport and put it on long enough to have a picture and it was off and back in the DI bag in no time!

The boys went golfing while the girls stayed home and did a Humanitarian quilt that had the most random pieces of fabric ever!!

It was so good to see everyone. Thanks Blaine and Leslie for letting us stay at your house!!

How did this happen?

I had some maternity pants that I bought during the first of my pregnancy. I ordered them online from Gap. I got 2 sizes because I wasn't sure what size I would need. I tried them on and definately needed the smaller size. I started wearing them because they were so much more comfy on my growing belly. They were HUGE and not very attractive because they were so Big and just hung on me. Brandon HATED THEM! I finally got some new ones and when I bought them, Brandon wanted me to wear them out of the store instead of the other ones! :) They fit MUCH better.

I was thinking about trying to sell them because they were so big and not cheap and I hardly wore them. I got them out again and thought that I better try them on just in case and...............



THEY FIT!!!

AGH!! How did this happen?? I cant decide if I am happy about having another pair of pants to wear or if I am pissed that they fit and I have gotten that big!! I guess I should put away the M&M's and all the other treats for awhile and hold off... I will be HUGE before we know it if I don't! I guess it gives me even more motivation to REALLY train and run a half marathon after this baby comes, not because I like to run, but because it will get me back in shape! I guess that the poor little baby needs some growing room!!
Other than that... we are doing good. I am starting to feel a bit more tired than usual and can barely get in a workout without being so dang tired. I am now at week 26 and getting very large. We went up to Brigham really quick today and my mom was amazed at how much I grew since last time I saw her! We had an appt a couple weeks ago and she was face down and backwards so we couldn't see anything, but they were able to measure her. She is measuring a bit small, but the Dr. wasn't worried. Her heartbeat is strong and looks good. 14 weeks to go!!

Brandon is doing well...he is getting more and more excited as the days and weeks pass and the closer we get to graduation!! He has worked so hard to get to this point and I can't say that I blame him for wanting to be done after almost 30 years of his life in school! YUCK!! He is busy with the JOB SEARCH. There aren't a ton of positions available unless you want to work in a nursing home, which is VERY last resort or work part time without benefits. Um... kind of need those with a new baby coming!

Our burns are healing up very well. My scars are quite noticeable, but I think they will slowly fade away. They are very dry and peeling, but NO MORE PAIN!!

**birthday, idaho fun, and a little excitement**

As promised.... a new post.....FINALLY!!!

There might be a bit of an overload.. sorry!!

We have had a few things going on... I turned 27!! I hate that I am one year closer to turning 30, but there is no way to stop it, so I guess I have to deal with it. I had a great day!! Thanks for all the birthday wishes from everyone!! Brandon got me flowers.....my favorite.. DAISIES.

I got to sleep in and then Brandon made me some waffles and actually put candles in them and sang to me...

He got me a few gifts..a cookbook (don't worry I asked for it, no hints), a shirt, and money for a new camera.

Later that day.. we headed up to Brigham to celebrate with the fam to have lunch and cake. Mom made a delicious lunch and for dessert.....my absolute favorite.. STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE!! It is no surprise what kind of cake I want.. it is the same EVERY year! The pic is a bit dark.. whoops!

Hadlee decided that we needed to make some party hats. We got a little out of control and made one for EVERYONE!! Not everyone kept them on the whole time, but it was a good idea!!! Brandon's parents came and brought the CUTEST flippin' tutu and headband for our little girl. I want to put it on her NOW!! :)

Then..............

A couple weekends ago, we headed up to good ol' Driggs, Idaho to my cousin's mission farewell (I know they aren't supposed to be called that, but didn't know what else to call it). We were able to take Tee and Trey with us, so their Mom could enjoy the new baby in peace! :) Grandpa and Uncle Wayne were so excited to get the snowmobiles out and pull the kids on sleds behind them. It was a little warm and not a ton of snow, but it was enough to do go sledding. I drove around on the back of Brandon's snowmobile for a minute and told him not to go fast as he had a pregnant women with him...He was glad to get me off and switch snowmobiles and TAKE OFF!

We had tons of fun and some of the kids were soaked, but had a blast!! I think Hadlee might have had more fun eating the snow as they rode along! :) Funny kids!

AND....FOR THE EXCITEMENT!!!!

I guess we weren't having enough excitement, so I decided to create some. Okay.. not really!!

WARNING: SOME PICTURES MIGHT BE A LITTLE GRAPHIC!!

I was trying to be an EXCELLENT wife and make some Navajo tacos for my cute husband from my new cookbook. I had everything ready to go and just had the scones left to cook. I had the oil on the stove heating up. I ran in the other room for a minute to turn off my work computer and saw a reflection of FLAMES on the kitchen wall!! I ran in there to see flames as high as the flipping ceiling!!!!! AGH!!! I panicked and yelled for Brandon (SO GLAD HE WAS HOME!). He came in and didn't know it was grease, so he grabbed the pan and threw it in the sink and it blew UP into even bigger flames!! I was in too much panic to tell him it was grease! The flames were HUGE.. the heat flew Brandon back and hit the floor HARD. Luckilly there wasnt a ton of oil, so it put itself out with the water. I just kept thinking.. Oh crap... we cannot start the whole complex on fire. The alarms started going off.. I opened the door and our neighbor came running up. He said that there was 2 feet of BLACK smoke at the top of our apartment! That can't be good for a pregnant girl! We got the windows open, the alarms turned off so the fire trucks didn't have to come. We went downstairs and it wasn't till then that we noticed our BURNS!! We ran them under cold water for 20 minutes while trying to decide how I got burnt when I didn't even touch the stupid pan. We figured that when Brandon threw it into the sink.. it splashed out onto my hand, cus my clothes were covered in grease! Brandon's pointer finger and thumb was burnt BADLY!! He was in tons of pain that night and the stubborn thing just kept cleaning and wouldn't put ice on it!! Mine is 3 of my fingers on the knucles and below. It took skin off! It didn't hurt too bad. Brandon's was killing him. Mine didn't hurt, so Brandon was worried about it being 3rd degree and burning my nerve endings. Our neighbor was great and let us hang out down there till our apartment cleared out and we got calmed down a little. He bandaged up my fingers.


Brandon called his sister,Tai and bro in law Joe to come help. Tai took me to Instacare to get my burns checked out... only 2nd degree.. thank goodness, but the most painful!! He prescribed me some pain meds and I didn't understand why because they didn't even hurt at the time, but a day or two later, I totally UNDERSTOOD! My mom is amazing and drove down to SLC the next day to bring us some miracle Maleleuca OIL and JEL to put on our burns and made it here before Brandon left for work. I was in so much pain. I am so not a medicine taker and especially being pregnant I hesitate to take medicine, so I dealt with the pain and only took 2 extra strength Tylenols the whole week and that was only at night so I could sleep! That and A LOT OF ICE!! It was a few miserable nights and days of PAIN and tears. I really was ready to cut off my fingers! My little Phyiscal Therapist keeps reminding me to move my fingers so that I don't loose functionality of them. Brandon's pain was gone after the first night sleeping with ice on it.. but now is straight DRY LEATHER! We are well on our way to recovery. My stupid burns took over a week to scab. I am so scared of the scars it is going to LEAVE!! AGH!! Hello maderma, biosilk, vitamin E and any other suggestions! :) It had to be on my fingers where everyone can see! Oh well.. just MORE THAN GRATEFUL it wasn't our faces. I have no idea how in the world people that get burned all over can deal with that pain!!

The kitchen looked awful covered in black. Brandon and Joe started cleaning while we ran to Instacare.. it went into the family room on the ceiling.. OH MAN!! People that live in my apt complex... DO NOT TELL THE MANAGERS!! :) I am still a little embarssed about the whole thing, but oh well.. Accidents happen!! I cleaned till 12:30, with one hand, that night to get at least the first layer of black off. It still didn't look so good. My wonderful Mom came over the weekend and helped scrub the rest of it off as she told me NOT to do it and get infection in my fingers. It is pretty much back to normal. Thanks to EVERYONE for their help. What would we do without these people in our lives?

We are so grateful that it wasn't worse and it wasn't our faces that got burnt or that they weren't any worse and that the damage wasn't worse!! We feel super blessed and protected!!
The next day.. I was so scared to cook ANYTHING...I had the fire extinguisher out and ready to go.. just in case!! Where was the fire extinguisher during the fire, you ask? Well, to be honest.. we didn't even think of it and the next morning couldn't even find it. We now know exactly where it is!! Why didn't we do baking soda?? IT was in the cupboard above the fire and didn't have time to think that fast! Our baking soda is now in a different cupboard!! We now know what we would do different if this were to happen again.. we sure hope not, but... for all of you...IF this were to happen to you....DON"T PANIC...
