a little of everything....

It seems like the last couple weekends have gone SO fast and have been so busy. I will try to update as best I can! We celebrated our anniversary by just going to dinner. We didn't do a whole lot more.. can't do much more when you are poor as can be. Brandon did get me some flowers. He knows I love daisies and did a good job! I hate to have him spend a ton of money on flowers, so I am glad he didn't go all out! I loved them!


Last Friday I got off work a little early and headed up to my nephew's (Trey) water birthday party. I had my camera in the car, but I was too lazy to go get it...see pics on Lyssa's blog! It was so much fun to watch all the little kids go down the huge water slide while we sat in the shade. I did go and sit in the sun for a minute.. but looking at my whiteness, you would never know!!
I then went to the Dr. in Brigham to get my thyroid tested. I thought this may be why I am having a horrible time loosing weight and getting pregnant.. Nope.. came back normal (which I am super grateful for), so now I have to figure out what the problem is, which nobody can explain! I exercise religiously (as Brandon puts it) and really watch what I eat and I really feel like I am gaining weight every day and I am not exaggerating! It is so not fun and makes me really ornery! Sorry for everyone that has to deal with my complaining. Maybe one day I might figure it out!
I then went to get the car inspected and registered and the handle broke off--thanks for the comments on that--we did get it fixed and they paid for it completely. I was definately agreeing with you all, but wanted to see what everyone else said before I gave my opinion. Then a couple errands and to dinner with mom and Grandma and Grandpa Hartshorn! I then headed home.. and the freeway was closed.. why the crap do they close it? Dang Construction!! Brandon wasn't able to come with me because he couldn't get off work--only 2 more weeks of his unpaid work !:)
Saturday we went to a sealing at the SLC temple. My Aunt Chris and Uncle Greg adopted a little girl (Taylee Grace Steed) about 6 months ago. The adoption was finalized and they were finally able to be sealed together as a family. She has brought so much joy and happiness to them. It was so much fun to be there and watch them be "stuck together forever" as the sealer put it! :) The sealer did an awesome job and told AMAZING stories from his many years of life experiences! I could barely understand him and got bits and pieces because he was talking so fast, but Brandon filled in the blanks later! WOW!! What a blessing for them!!

We were walking back to the car and I was just walking across the street to the conference center and I turned around to talk to my mom and there was a hole in the road and of course I found it and tripped! I had heels on and did a really good job at staying up although it took some wobbling! and nobody helped.. they just stood back and laughed. Yeah.. that is pretty much what I looked like, except I didn't fall!! I am sure glad that I gave everyone sitting at the light a good laugh! :) I even managed to rip my new shoes! Dang it! I hope the shoe repair can fix them!! Steph.. I know that you will be rolling on the floor laughing at this point and remember our good ol' college days!! I seem to always find those stupid holes in the road!!
Sunday they blessed Taylee. It was good also. I love watching the priesthood being used and feeling the spirit. She is such a good, cute baby! I helped my grandma get her dress on and get her ready to go. The dress was so big, we lost her in it for a second! She is so cute and I am so happy that they have her in their lives and she has such great parents that love her more than anything!

Lately I have been having a really hard time understanding why it is so hard for us to get pregnant!! It is especially so hard with my job to watch people have kids that probably shouldn't and have kids only to get more benefits, etc. It is so hard to understand and you start asking a lot of questions wondering if it will ever be your turn!!! It is really frustrating and I was really close to just giving up, but I decided to ask my wonderful priesthood holder husband, Brandon for a blessing instead. Wow!! What an amazing experience. We both really felt heavenly fathers love for me (and us) and of course, it helps me to understand things a little bit better! I will have some faith and some patience and hang in there! Oh how I love the priesthood and I am so grateful for it and the wonderful blessings and experiences that I have had because of it! Thanks Brandon, I love you!! I really have learned a lot through this situation and am sure I will learn a lot more before it is over, but I am grateful for challenge to strengthen my testimony and increase my faith! I have noticed myself much more calm and not so worried about it and I don't want to hurt every pregnant person in sight anymore!!
This last weekend we watched kids. Wow!! It was so much fun and I am so glad that we are able to spend time with them and have fun, although, there were times that Brandon turned to me and said "do you still want kids?" I said sadly but true "YES, definately!"
Brandon finishes his internship in 2 weeks.. this week and one more!! Hooray! Then the Monday after he finishes I start working in the office to start training on our new program. Our team was chosen to be the pilot team to test the much needed new system for our region! It will only be about 1 month and then I get to come work at home again.
I am ready to die with the heat!! I seriously cannot believe how hot it is. After my workout today, I told Brandon that I am going have to get up at like 5:oo a.m. to get my workout in before the heat! I guess it could be worse! :) I hope that everyone is surviving the heat and wish everyone a safe and fun 4th of July!!

Who should have to pay??

I took my car in to get the inspection done yesterday. It passed, thank goodness, but when they called to tell me it was done, they told me that when the worker tried to open the door, he broke the door handle off! I couldn't figure out what they meant. I got there and the owner came and talked to me and told me he would order the part in and put it in for us. He said that he would do whatever he needed to make us happy with the payment part. I paid for the inspection. The door handle alone is about 65.00. We have not noticed it getting loose or being even close to breaking and Brandon just barely waxed the car and I think he would have noticed a crack or something loose. It is an 8 year old car, which I know stuff like that happens. I think the guy was trying to open the door with it locked and yanked on the handle just a little too hard and it flipped back and cracked it off. am so bummed.. I really don't have the money to be paying for a freakin door handle as I can barely afford groceries and gas! SO, my question is... who should have to pay for this? Them? Us? Half? Let me know what you think!!

4 Amazing Years!

Today is our 4th Anniversary!! It has been the best 4 years of my life. It seems like it should be more than 4 years because I can't imagine life before we were married and life without Brandon! We have learned a lot, experienced a lot, grown a lot and gone through a lot, but I am so glad that we were able to do it all side by side and hand in hand! I love Brandon more than anything and so glad that I get to be with him FOREVER!
I kind of wish that each year on our anniversary.. we could re-live the day again the exact same way!! I know that it wouldn't be the same feeling, but I LOVED, LOVED the day. That was one of my FAVORITE days in my whole 26 years!

BEES

Brandon and I went to the Bees game with some friends from my work and my cousin Brittney on Thursday night. We rode Trax so we wouldn't have to worry about parking. It was a lot of fun and the game was super cheap!! 3.50 each--can't beat that! Brandon took his little radio and listened to the Celtics/Lakers game the whole time and was giving everyone around us the updates. Brandon said it wouldn't have been any fun if that game wouldn't have been going on! I did what girls do best and talked the whole time and people watched! We had a blast! Brandon looks like he is on a date with a million girls.. no.. there was another guy there, but he is the one that took our picture!

sick in the summer?

The last couple mornings I have woke up with a dry yucky throat and could feel a sore throat coming on. I have to make sure that I am really sick before I say anything to Brandon or I will have to go DAYS without kissing him! He will not kiss me if I have even one sign of sickness, so I usually try to hold off as long as I can. I have been loading up on amoxicillian, vitamin c, and tons of orange juice along with my vitamins, but this morning I woke up and had a really bad sore throat, so I finally had to tell him. BUMMER!! Now goes the drought of no kissing! :( I hate that! How is a girl supposed to go without kisses? How is it that I can go through all winter without catching all the crap going around and never getting sick to once it finally starts to warm up and be summer I get a dang sore throat?? AGH! I am thinking I might take off work a bit early today and go rent some chick flicks and watch them and sleep and be lazy for a little while!

Feedin the baby!! :)

We went and helped my Dad move into a bigger apartment this afternoon. Afterwards we went to get some dinner. We all got a pizza to just share thinking we would barely have enough for all of us. We had no idea it was going to be this big!!! It is 23" (THE PAPA). We were freaking out because we have never seen a pizza this big! It had a good 20 pieces in it and each piece was at least a foot long (as you can see from Matt's picture). I am still so sick and so full and I only ate one piece!! I don't think the picture does it justice. They said if we can finish it, they would take our picture and put in on the wall and we thought it would be no problem.. now we know why there aren't any other pictures on the wall!! :) We barely ate half of it and had to box up the rest of it for leftovers which will feed us all for another meal!!

This last picture Hadlee thought it was cool that we both had jolly ranchers and she kept showing it to me on the tip of her tounge.

NO GARLIC!!

For those of you who don't already know.. we don't eat much garlic! Anything that I cook, I leave the garlic out of it, because Brandon HATES garlic. He can smell it from a mile away and even if I eat something that has a tiny bit of garlic in it.. he can smell it on my breath!! He won't eat the bread at most restaurants because they all have garlic and.. try finding meals at restaurants that don't have garlic in them! He was runined on his mission when his companion made a
"garlic surprise" for dinner that made Brandon sick for days! :) My family and others usually make Brandon his own little dish of food of no garlic if they are using it! And I thought I was picky!! haha.. jk.
We went to dinner at the pizza factory with Matt, Elise, & Cohen and Brad, Emily, & Macey over the weekend and while we were waiting, we noticed this saying on the wall. It says "A CHEF WHO USES GARLIC NEVER FAILS" in Italian. Brandon strongly disagrees!! I had to take a picture of him by it!

hike with scouts

Brandon went on a hike with the scouts on Saturday to Dog Lake (Cottonwood Canyon). Brandon is really enjoying being in the scouts. He said that they hiked most of the way in snow and the lake had about 6 inches of slush on it. He was excited to be able to go out and hike again and I am glad I didn't have to go! :) . Although we are planning a little hiking/ camping trip later this summer with our friends..hiking in and camping overnight. I am actually kind of excited to go on that. I hope I am in shape enough to make it! I have wanted to go camping for A LONG time. In the 4 years that Brandon and I have been married.. we have NEVER been camping together--he has all the gear.. we have just never gone! NO.. that is not Brandon in the cowboy hat :) , that is the other leader!
