ROAD TRIP

This last easter weekend was really crazy busy. The easter celebrations were great and dinner with the friends was tons of fun.. thanks guys! On Saturday my mom and I started our little road trip to Boise, Idaho. One of my roommates from my freshman year of college got married. She caught the bouquet at my wedding. I really wanted to go to the reception, but Brandon was not one bit excited about the driving, so my mom said that she would go with me. I have only been to Boise two other times.. one with Elise for one of her roommates receptions and we drove back that same night and of course I was no entertainment and fell asleep. The second time was a trip to watch the aggies play in the march madness craziness and again we drove back that same night. We were so crazy and so tired and of course I slept the whole way home and was of no assistance keeping Brandon awake..other than every couple minutes I would panick and wake up to make sure he was okay! :) Anyway.. this time I got a cheap hotel on priceline, so we stayed the night. Matt kept trying to tell us it was a 5 hour drive and it was according to the TOMTOM and I was really nervous, but we drive fast, so it only took 3.5 hours!! We had fun and even got in a little shopping, meal to go at olive garden for almost nothing.. some cheesecake from cheesecake factory, and a whole lot of yummies at the reception. The next morning in the gym was a must!!
It was fun for a little road trip, but if you are ever wanting a road trip with some scenery..do not go to BOISE. That is the most boring drive of just fields and fields of NOTHING!!! It was fun to see my old roommates though, so I am glad that we went! Thanks mom!

Riley Junior Prom 08

We left the wedding early to hurry down to riley's promenade. She looks so cute. Love the green! It kept reminding me of my prom.. although I am sure she had much more fun than I did!! I think Brandon was sick of my prom stories! Sorry! I got my prom dress from home the other day and I put it on while i was there-- quite a bit too small too. Riley's friends were making fun of it, but hey it was cute 10 years ago!! I get the prize for cheapest prom dress too.. $30.00.. my accessories were more than my dress! And yes.. it really was cute!!

I feel kind of dumb doing a blog about my birthday.. but oh well.. I had a great day. We stayed over at my mom's because we were going to my cousin's wedding in Logan on Saturday and we had some errands to run in Brigham on Friday. I hated the blanket of snow that we woke up to!! IT is supposed to be spring! Mom made my favorite breakfast cocoa and toast, which only mom can make it the right way! Then we hurried to get ready to leave up to Logan. I wanted to open my presents before we went up and didn't have a lot of time, so my hair is lookin super nice in the pictures.. not done yet and no makeup! Yikes.. can't believe that I am posting these! I was spoiled and got Photoshop from my parents and Riley and the cricut software to go with my machine from Brandon. I really have to become tech savy now and my mom told me she expects great things! :) I also got some cute clothes and money and a wax machine. Thanks everyone!!

I can't believe that I am 26!! I was telling Brandon and my mom that I don't think that 10 years ago I would have looked forward and imagined my life at 26 being the way that it is--no kids and STILL in school, and still working (at least it isn't Maddox!), but I honestly wouldn't change it for anything. I am so grateful for the things that I do have and for the many lessons I have learned, opportunities given, and being able to kind of have a career before kids. I was also thinking at how weird that I am only 4 years younger than my mom was when she had Riley!! That is so weird to me! I just hope that I will become more wise with each year that I get older!

Good Things Utah Girls/Team Carrie Ann

I took Friday off and we went to a showing of Good Things Utah. I love this show and watch it every day (yes.. while working.. shhh). I have wanted to go for awhile, but just never got around to it, so I figured it would be a good time to go for my birthday with my mom and sisters. We had so much fun. The girls are so cute and I can't believe how much skinnier they are in real life. They are already skinny enough on t.v. NO FAIR! Reagan wasn't there so it was a guest host, but still fun.
If any of you watched on Friday you saw that Team Carrie Ann from DANCE WARS was on the show and did a segment. Mauriel from that team is from Utah. They are really good, but I really wanted Team Bruno to win, but still fun to see Team Carrie Ann. They left right after the segment and we didn't see them, but as we we were walking out, they were going to a different room, so we were able to sneak a quick picture with them!!

We then went to lunch at Paradise Bakery. YUMMY FOOD!! The funnest part was the ordering.. none of us really knew what we were doing! :) It was good to be with the girls and get it some good laughing.. Cara always put on a show for us. She said she would kill me if I posted the pic of her hillbilly teeth, so I will respect that! Thanks Mom, Riley, Lyssa, and Cara for the fun day!!

UTAH STATE BASKETBALL

We LOVE UTAH STATE BASKETBALL!! We were able to go to the game the other night against UCSanta Barbara. Brandon's Dad was honored for being a previous player during halftime along with a bunch of other former players. It was fun to be there to see him be honored! For any of you who knew me before I met Brandon, it is hard to believe that I could love a sport so much!! I was never into sports at all and didn't know a thing about them mostly coming from an all girl family and my Dad wasn't all that into sports either. When Brandon and I started dating, I don't think that we missed a home basketball game. I started to really enjoy them and I now LOVE the games. I just love the feeling of excitement I get when I walk into the spectrum for the games! MY family just laughs at me! I love the student section heckling the other team. I know that is not very nice of me, but I love it!! :)


My favorite part is when a player from the other team fouls out and they say right, left as they step to go sit back on the bench with the team. I get so excited and the other team HATES it! :) At the game the other night, one of the players fouled out and they did it and you could tell it made him so mad, which makes it even better, he did a little dance really fast to make em stop, but no.. they kept doing it! I loved it!!! I am like a little kid. Brandon thinks it is so funny, but I am not the only one.. we were sitting at the very top right by an opening and when they were doing it, these boys ran through the opening and were so excited too! :) The whole crowd cheered when he sat down!! That is the best!! I get so bummed when we are listening to it on the radio and someone fouls out and we are not there!! I LOVE BEING THERE!! I really recommend going to a game if you have never been. Beats a jazz game by 10 times!! I promise!! IT is such a fun atmosphere!! After the game we met Brandon's parents down on the court and some of the players walked by. I thought I was seeing celebrities, I felt so privileged!! :) I know.. I am a dork! Our friend used to get us free tickets and sometimes they were two rows up right behind the basket. That was SO much fun!! I thought I would have to control Brandon from yelling so much at the players and the ref, but I think it was pretty equal between the two of us. I couldn't help it, they could really hear me! :) Thanks Kenny!!

I am so glad that I can enjoy and share one of Brandon's passion with him. We LOVE going to the games together and look forward to make it a family activity and dress our children in straight blue aggie attire, own season tickets, and be part of the big blue club when Brandon is making the big bucks, ;) Cara mentioned we should move to st. george with them.. I told them it is way too far from UTAH STATE!! :) Lame, I know, but true!

Who eats more? Probably him.. except not near as much as before his surgery! And of course he doesn't gain anything. I think I might gain the weight for him!! :)

Who said I love you first? He did, but only because I wasn't going to be the one that said it first!:) He told me that he really really liked me, and I said "you just like me?" (I think that we had already called the temple and got a date), and he said "Fine, I will say it.. I LOVE YOU!!"

Who is smarter? Umm, hello.. who is in graduate school?

Whose temper is worse? Mine - unless we are trying to find a parking spot or other rare occasion!

Who does the laundry? Mostly Brandon--how did I get so lucky? Does that make me a bad wife?

Who folds the laundry? We usually don't fold it..just put it away.. we put away our own.

Who does the dishes? This is pretty even.. I still am not quite sure how I got so lucky!!!

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do and always have. That is if you are looking at the bed. Sometimes I would like to switch sides because the T.V. is on Brandon's side and when we watch it in bed, I hate being behind him. I like him to hold me! :)

Who pays the bills? Gosh.. this is pretty even too. We both make sure it is done, but it depends on what bills need to be paid. Brandon pays online bills, I ususally do the rest.. he hasn't written a check since we got married!

Who cooks dinner? Usually me, although I hate it more than anything!! Sometimes when I really don't want to do it, Brandon will throw something together.

Who drives when you are together? He does, I hate to drive.

Who is more stubborn? I would say most of the time ME! But he has his moments too!

Where did we meet? I hate that our story isn't cute: working at Maddox.. Brandon asked me out on Halloween, but I always had a secret crush on him hoping that some day he really would ask me out. He would flirt with me a lot too. But it took 2 years for him to finally ask me out!

Do you remember what he was wearing? I am sure our lovely penguin outfits.. white shirt, black pants and black apron.

When was our first kiss? On our 3rd date/hangout. I don't remember the exact date, but the 3rd time we were together in November of 2003. Brandon will tell anyone that I made the first move, but I promise that it was all him. I was all about waiting, because I didn't want it to be weird at work after we kissed and I really didn't think he would kiss me so soon, so I was really surprised! P.S. the next day at work was kind of weird! :)

Where do I see us in 15 years? Gosh.. hopefully with a family (ideal.. 4 kids) and Brandon making the big bucks and living in Logan going to all the Utah State games! :)
