I have always HATED the smell of smoke and when people smoke in public and you are walking behind them and get a big whiff of their smoke! It makes me so mad and it is SO rude!! Or when you are sitting at a stoplight and someone is smoking in their car and it comes into your car through the exhaust!! HELLO!! RUDE!
Now that I am pregnant, it bothers me even more now than it ever has!! Why should my baby have to suffer because some idiot (that I don't even know) is deciding to be selfish and smoke in front of me? I think it is extremely rude! I know that they probably can't tell that I am pregnant yet most of the time and maybe it will make a difference once I am showing, but STILL.. it drives me crazy!! I think that if someone lights up in front of me.. I am going to let 'em know how I feel! :) yeah.. we will see! :) It is okay to be a little protective already, isn't it? lol

I totally know what you mean. I would always hold my breath when I was walking past someone that was smoking when I was pregnant. Even now I feel like I want to plug Cohen's nose :) I'm sure that would go over really well. P.S. We got our internet hooked up!!! But I still haven't posted anything on my blog yet, so don't get your hopes up :)
I'm soooo with you! Especially after Italy, where everyone smokes, and they blow the smoke into my sons face as they are trying to tell us how cute he is..so annoying! Chris and I decided it is the worst habit in the world!
I love this post. I'm not prego, but I feel the same way. -I can only imagine it'd piss me off further if I WAS pregnant though. Honestly, you're doing what you can to ensure your little fetus clean, happy air, etc...so why do other people have to make it so difficult? Oi...
When do you find out the gender of your little one? :)
oh man! I so remember that exact feeling when I was pregnant with Tee. I still think its the rudest thing ever. Because of thier STUPID habit they have to make the rest of us breath it and suffer the consequences. I'm not afraid to make a big deal out of it. Sometimes when we go walking in to the Lodge to see Greg the kids are out smoking. I purposley say really loud , "hurry boys so we dont' have to breath that yucky smoke!" or "plug your nose boys. that smoke is soooo bad for you!!" I ususally get crusties but I think its so rude. Not only that.. law is 15 feet from any building.
I totally agree! The worst was when we were at the Gateway in December. I really hate that place because people are smoking right outside of every store. It stinks and it's nasty. I loved going to Six Flags (and Lagoon, now) where there's designated smoking areas, so there are just a few specific places to stay away from and you can wait in line without worrying about it.
Ok - here's a funny. When I was in labor with Alyssa (like the first time and you have no idea what is happening with your body)... and this is back in the olden days and back in the old fashioned Driggs hospital where you just did your labor thing in one of the regular hospital rooms. So anyway, this guy who was in the hospital and a room down from mine who had been hacking and coughing the whole time I was in there, started smoking (I know, it makes no sense, but if you've seen those commercials about smoking - what were we thinking is really true). Well, as you can imagine, the lady in labor yells 'Who's smoking?'. Haha! No more smoking the rest of the time I was in there.
Okay...I just have to tell you that I totally agree. I usually give them the death look. Really where is peoples common sense!! The "over protectivness" only gets worse:)!
I hope your pregnancy is super easy! When do get to find out the sex of the baby?
Dont you get to see what the baby is pretty soon? I think you should do a poll. I still think its a girl.
Do a poll sister!!!! Come on!!
K SO I VOTED GIRL ON YOUR POLL. GREG SAYS GIRL, TEE SAYS GIRL AND TREY IS POSITIVE ITS A BOY!!LOL
