We have felt nothing but love, joy, and excitement for baby Braylie!! Okay.. so maybe a little tears shed, frustration, stress, worrying, and drowsiness, but would we change any of it? NO WAY!! We have waited so long for this and are so grateful to finally have her here! It has been quite an adjustment after it being just Brandon and I for so long, but we have made iMy recovery went extremely well. I was off pain meds while still in the hospital and didn't take any when we got home. I was up and doing normal things the day we got home. The nurse's said how remarkable I was doing and were amazed I didn't want more pain med. Brandon couldn't believe how well I was doing. I know it is because of the blessings I got before and during my pregnancy and the constant prayers that were said!
I seriously can't believe how fast the last 4 weeks has gone! I want it to stop. It seems like it was just yesterday! Braylie is doing good and growing and changing like a weed!! I hate it, but at the same time, so glad that she is getting enough to eat and doing what she is supposed to!! Her cheeks are getting so chubby and she has some chub on her legs. She is still looking just like her Dad!! He is thrilled to death!! I hate that she isn't that tiny little baby that we brought home from the hospital, but so glad we get to love her forever no matter what!

---Braylie's first Dr. visit---
7 lbs 2.5 oz
20.5 inches
--Braylie's first bath---
Do you feel bad for her? I DO!! She was so mad and hated every second!! It didn't help that she was starving! I couldn't get her to latch on ( I need a whole different post to explain--don't worry.. we got it figured out) and right after this we headed to the lactation nurse at the hospital. Poor girl. Look at her pulling on my shirt--she is so HUNGRY!!
We had a much more pleasant experience the second time. She now loves baths and loves to sit in the warm water--it helps that she is full too!
She has been sleeping in this little moses basket next to our bed. I think we might need to find a different bed for her... she loves stretching out and this doesn't give her much room to stretch!
Everyone LOVES her and can't wait till they get to see her next!! We have made lots of visits to see everyone up north. This is a photo shoot we had of the girls. I had Braylie in this little dress. Cara went and got Cora dressed in the same dress and Lyssa said she had one for Tayah... we had to get pictures! :) This is the best we could get.
I wondered how Mr. germaphobe (Brandon) would handle diaper changes, spitting up, etc. He has actually been better than I thought. He has been peed on, thrown up on, spit up on, changed some VERY poopy diapers and has tolerated it all and hasn't complained!! YAY!! At first he jumped at the opportunity to change her, which was excellent since I couldn't move that first day after my surgery. When I felt up to it... he questioned if I knew how to do it! :) lol! He is very good to make sure that we always wash our hands and even Braylie's little hands get wiped every time we go somewhere or a little kid touches her!
I think we pretty much have gotten used to this parenting thing. We definitely are not pros, but I think we are doing pretty good. I have learned to not FREAK out when my baby doesn't follow what the books say!! She is her own person and will do things as she needs! Feeding your baby every 2 hours? wake your baby up to eat? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? She will wake up when she is hungry.. Hunger always wins! She eats maybe 7 times and is gaining way too much weight for my liking! :) She is up to almost 9 lbs according to our measurements!
Brandon has started working and is enjoying it so far. I think he will enjoy it more when he can get the hang of it and get everything down and finally feel comfortable. He enjoys the people he works with. The main owners are all LDS and VERY honest men... a definite plus!!! I think it will also be a little better when he doesn't have to commute from SLC to Layton every day! He can't wait to get home to "his girls" at the end of the day!
We are moving the end of this month to an apartment in Layton. We can't find a house that we like in our price range and don't want to settle for something we just kind of like. It is kind of a big investment to not like! We are really considering having my Dad build us a house to save us lots of money, but will probably end up more north to be able to afford a lot! We have really enjoyed being here in SLC and have really liked our ward. It will be hard to leave, but ready for a new adventure to begin!
I am loving being home with my baby Braylie!!! I get a little bored when she is sleeping, but MUCH BETTER THAN WORKING!! Too bad I have to go back to work in just 8 short weeks!! I just really hope my family is willing to babysit cus I can't stand the thought of taking her to day care!!
