Back to the ER we go! :)

So, I already have some funny updates on Brandon!
He was fine and we went to the doctor on Tuesday morning. The doctor took out his stitches and his staples and put long stuff on it and said that it should heal nicely and gave him permission to go down the snake river on our white water rafting trip next weekend (for our family reunion). Brandon was feeling really good. All was well until the next day. I had gone to a lunch with my work and was sure Brandon would be just fine at home by himself. I was almost ready to leave the lunch when Brandon called. He said he was leaking out of his incision. He said it was yellowy blood. I said call Dr. Vorhees and see what he says. He called and Dr. Vorhees wanted us to come in so he could look at it. I told Brandon to put some clothes on and I would come pick him up. He said it was dripping so bad that he coudln't put any clothes on (this is after he had showered). I came home and helped him get dressed and we headed in. He took a culture of it to make sure that it was just the infection and not something else! He said it was what they call "senoma". He bandaged him up again and said he should be just fine.. it is normal to let that stuff come out. We changed the bandages. Brandon luckily had some leftover gauze and tape from one of his classes that I knew we saved for a good reason! Then today I was working and he wanted me to help take off the bandage so that he could shower.. well, we took it off and don't worry that there was a hole in the middle of his incision....it had split open! EW!!! It made me so sick to my stomach.. I about passed out! I had to lay down and put my feet up!! :) We had to get it covered again, so I cut the gauze and had Brandon put it on while I looked away and then I taped it on!! :) I again told him to call Dr. Vorhees. The nurse answered and said he was in surgery and would call when he got out. He called and said he was at the ER and to come in there and he would let them know we were coming. They had us in a different room that they normally don't use, becuase Dr. Vorhees didn't want us to have to check in as a patient (nice doctor). He came and took a look and said it was because of all the infection that Brandon had inside him. It just needs to come home. He said that it wasn't "superficial" and doesn't go very deep. He said he was going to keep it open with a bandage on it so that infection could drain. I can't even look at it anymore.. It is so gross! HE asked if he needed to have a nurse come in and change the bandage, but we said we could handle it. Brandon will just have to put the stuff on it and I can tape it up! He then gave Brandon a abdominal binder to help support it and make him feel more comfortable. We have an appointment to go back and see him on Tuesday and he said if needed, he will put some stitches in it! Sorry, I am not posting a picture of that! I don't even have one...it would make me sick! It is kind of funny to think about me passing out and this whole thing never ending! :)
It is just crazy...something every day! I guess that is what you get when it is something that serious. Brandon had been one sick dude! Poor kid!!
He is doing well, but still doesn't have his full energy back and doesn't feel completely back to normal.
I think this might extend his internship just a little longer because we were thinking that if he has that appt on Tuesday and then wed is the 4th, why go back next week? :) I might get to spend the 4th with him after all!
We were planning to go to St. George this weekend (my cousin is blessing his baby), but Brandon just doesn't feel up to it yet and is nervous to leave! I guess that is pretty understandable with all the complications already!
