Our LONG update

I guess I can't get mad at other people not posting on their blog, because I am a slacker myself! :) I have had good intentions, but just haven't done it.
Update on Brandon---
We went back to the doctor the next Tuesday (the 3rd) and The doctor stitched him up, but left holes so that the infection could still drain. It looked so much better and I could actually look at the incision now. It was still weird, but I could! He told us to come back the next week. We weren't really sure how this was going to work with Brandon needing to get back to his internship since he had already taken so much time off. Brandon decided to go up and do his internship on Thursday and Friday and Monday and come home after work Monday night. He had told me that there was some white stuff and my grandma thought that it was the beginning of a scab. We were excited that it was finally starting to heal, but when we went to the doctor on Tuesday (the 10th), he took the stitches out and cleaned all that stuff away. There was an intern in there. He was kind of explaining more to her, but said "his wife doesn't like to look at it open". He said that it is looking really good and it is going to have to heal from the bottom up or inside out. He said that it is going to be a wider scar than usual but it should heal okay and the process for healing is going to take just a little longer than usual.
We got home and Brandon wanted to see what it looked like, so he took the bandage off and it was open again. I wondered if it was that way when the stitches were taken out, but Brandon was worried, so he called and Dr. Vorhees apologized for not explaining himself to us. He said this is what happened when he took the stitches out. It is smaller than it was before! Brandon felt like an idiot, but the doctor was very nice about it. We are supposed to go back in 2 weeks. Hopefully it will start to heal and look even better. The first appt that we went to (on jun 26) we had scheduled a follow up appt on Aug 7. We have now been to the office at least once a week! It has been a very interesting process and it is not over yet either! He is starting to feel a lot better each day. He is slowly gaining his energy back but gets very exhausted by the end of a work day. That surgery has kicked his butt!! I hope he starts to get his full energy back soon!! I have to do all the lifting! He is not even supposed to lift a gallon of milk.. so when the carton is new, someone has to help him pour the milk into his cereal! :) I think that is funny! I would rather him be careful though.
We have an appt for him to see an eye specialist about his eye in August with Dr. Anderson. He is the one that did my eye surgery when I was in High School. He is really nervous about it, but is sick of everyone asking what is wrong with his eye. One eye doctor was really concerned about it and called it exophthalmos. I read up on it and it seems serious, but they have done tests and stuff and said it was okay. I hope it is something simple and that can be easily fixed. The thought of another surgery doesn't make him happy. I don't think that one will be as bad! Our insurance company is going to LOVE us! I was thinking how blessed we are though that we did have to go into the ER, because then we didn't have to pay for the surgery! It is covered 100%. We are being looked out for! It may not seem like it, but when we look back it is easier to see the blessings that come!
Oh yeah.. Brandon's mom cut her finger pretty bad at work and had to go in to the clinic and get stitches. Guess who did them? The same doctor that didn't diagnose Brandon's appendix! He said "Haven't I seen some members from your family recently?" Brandon's dad saw him just a couple days before Brandon. She said "Yeah, my son and my husband. You saw my son, Brandon on Sat night and he was in the ER on Sunday night with a ruptured appendix and had to have an emergency surgery!" She said he just looked at her and didn't say one word! WEIRD!

For the 4th of July, we went to the Logan fireworks (actually on the 3rd). Brandon mostly wanted to go to see the new endzone complex they are building for the football stadium. It really is cool what they are doing. It looks awesome. I just hope that it helps the program a little and they get a little better!!

The fireworks were amazing. I was very shocked. The finale was spectacular!

On the 4th we went to Kaysville and watched the parade with Brandon's brothers family (Brett and Kristi). My family was in Idaho already so we didn't go to Perry celebration. The parade was hot but fun.

We saw the new miss Utah. She served in Afganistan as a medic and serves in Joe's (my brother in law) guard unit. They even went to high school together! She was dressed in her camo and held her crown at her side. I think that is so cool to have someone like that represent Utah!! At the end they have a huge water fight with the firetruck hoses and tons of water going down the street! It is crazy.. we stood back and watched!!
We had our family reunion up in Jackson Hole on the weekend. We couldn't go up till the weekend because of work, so mostly everyone had gone (the reunion started on th3 5th). We left Brigham at like 3:30 and tried to make it to Bar J Wranglers by 7:00 and we made it in the knick of time! It was good food and good entertainment (kind of )!

The next day everyone went white water rafting down the snake river. We didn't go because Brandon couldn't get in the water, so I didn't want to go without him. We just hung out and enjoyed being together!
Brandon has 3 more weeks after this week is over of his internship. It sucks to think that originally tomorrow would be his last day! He has gotten a lot of extra hours during lunches that he has worked and stuff, so I am hoping he will be able to come home mid week of his last week or maybe not have to do the whole week. We will have to see! I can't wait to get things back to normal! He is so sick of driving. I feel so bad! We are switching cars this weekend, so I get to practice this weekend driving the truck. It is stick shift and you guys all know how UN-cordinated I am! It should be very interesting! :)
Work is good for me. We have started doing CHIP and more medicaid programs so it is really challenging, but I still like it! I also get my 3.00 raise so that makes me like it even more! I am enjoying working at home, although I do get distracted very easily! :)
I think that is all for now.. sorry for the very long posting, but hey, at least it has pictures.
