San Francisco!!!

BEWARE: LOTS OF PICTURES AHEAD!!
Brandon finally gave in to my begging and pleading that I really needed to get out and go somewhere. We had other plans for Fall break..but they kept falling through. We weren't going to do anything, but the Wednesday before fall break I told myself.. we were going somewhere. I called Brandon and told him that we had to go somewhere. I searched online for airline tickets.. but all just a little more than we wanted to spend. I figured that we could drive to San Francisco since it was only 750 miles! That night we found a hotel on priceline and got it for more than half price and then it was final... we were going!! Kind of a quick decision, but we packed up and left on Saturday morning. It took us all day to get there and the driving sucked! I thought we would never get there! It didnt help that just over the Nevada border we hit the snow storm through one of the passes and lost the hour that we gained with the time change! The storm wasn't even that bad, but the semi trucks thought that they needed to go 2 mph down it in the ONE lane that was open. It took us over an hour to get down it and it was only about 10 miles long! It was insane! One of the times Brandon finally got in the closed lane and passed as many vehicles as he could!:) It was fun to spend the time with Brandon! We were exhausted just after the 11 hour drive, so we checked into our hotel, got something to eat and went to bed!
The next day we started our exploring. First we went to the painted ladies (I like to call them the full house houses because they are on the start of full house). They are 6 victorian houses painted pastel colors across from a park.
We found a free parking spot on the side of the road which was super lucky.. parking is ridiculously expensive and rare there! We put our next destination in the TOMTOM and it was only 2 miles, so we decided to walk.. we walked and walked.. and finally made it to Union Square.

There are so many fun shops there! The Macy's has 8 floors and it is all womens... mens has a different store! We then headed up to Chinatown... nothing too exciting!
Then the thought of walking back to our car was awful! I had some dang good shoes on or it would have been lots worse! On our way back we saw a little bit of the air show and saw the blue angels. The whole day walking through downtown and the dirty gross streets, I kept telling Brandon how grateful I was to live in Utah and for the things I have and to never move me outside Utah!!
Then we headed to the Golden Gate Bridge. WOW!! That thing is HUGE! Our camera batteries died.. so most of the pictures are on our camcorder camera and I am not really sure how to get them onto the computer! We drove across it and then parked and walked across it! I was a little bit in shock that we were actually there to see it in person! There is an awesome view of alcatraz and the city. It took us an hour and a half to go about 15 miles in downtown traffic and the smell from the sewer was disgusting! AGh!

We also......
went to Fishermans wharf,
We both knew that this would be an excellent place to try fish... neither of us could do it!
Pier 39,

looked at alcatraz from the pier, (we were too cheap to pay $80.00 for a boat ride and tour out there.)

Saw the sea lions,

visited the aquarium,
Yes... even I touched the dang shark! I also touched a sting ray and numerous starfish! I know that all you are amazed!!

went to ghiradelli square,
Um...the ice cream and free samples of chocolate were yummy!

rode the trolley,
I couldn't stop saying this in my head! :) Some of the streets that we went up and down were so scary and steep! At first.. there was no way I was going to ride on the outside and hang on..but on our way back.. I knew I had to try it... that way is so much funner!
saw Lombard Street.
We didn't drive down this.. but we walked down it and it was so dang steep!! There are driveways on it too.. I don't know how they get in their garages!
We decided that the $35.00 for parking (the was right next to where we needed to go was worth it after the day before walking probably more than 7 miles! :) Brandon got pooped on right on his forehead as we were walking through the pier! He wouldn't let me take a picture!

I loved those old cable cars...they still use them! They are so dang cool. The bay bridge goes over to Oakland and is about 5 miles long! I hate bridges.. but it was still cool to drive that far on one! The next day we packed up and headed home.. I started not feeling so good and was getting hot flashes and headaches and I thought it was a little of clomid and mostly being in the car for so long and having the sun hitting directly at me. We had such a good time and we were so glad that we went! Brandon was a good sport with me having to take a gazillion pictures!

LOVE San Fran! Looks like you had a good time. When we were walking through China Town one night, there was a shooting in one of the markets. So we walked right by a covered up dead body! Poor fella...

I love the pictures!!!! I miss SF so much. I know I've already told you this, but SF is one of my favorite cities! One of these days I am going to fork out the money and go to Alcatraz..
