Brandon and I both got colds. Mine went away and then turned into an awful sinus infection. We really were trying to be careful to not let Braylie get it. I was on a strong anitbiotic, which I thought would get to Braylie enough that she wouldn't get sick.
IT DIDN'T WORK!
She got it!
Poor thing!!
She woke up the 1st night every half hour (poor thing couldn't breathe) ON FIRE with a fever of 101 degrees.
I stripped her down, gave her some Tylenol and tried to calm her down...she wouldn't stop crying. We tried everything... I even texted my mom at 3:00 in the morning!
I finally just held her in my arms and had her head raised to drain her nose a bit.. she finally fell asleep...YES.....IN MY ARMS!! It would be even better if she wasn't sick and when I didn't need the sleep too! :) She was still waking up every 1/2 hour! Brandon went and slept on the couch!
wuss!!
Luckilly the next day was my day off anyway, so the no sleep was ok.
I survived!
I felt so bad for her.. she can't do a thing about it and neither can I, really!
She was so congested and we couldn't get any of the mucous out.
Her fever went away the next day.
I elevated her crib mattress with a couple phone books to help the crap drain out.
She is feeling a lot better with each day and almost back to little Brays!
She has been a lot more cuddly, which I love! She did fall asleep in my arms once more during the day when I could LOVE every second of it! Other times she wouldn't let you touch her and everything you tried just made her more mad!
Sick babies definitely are not fun. I am just glad that it was a little cold and nothing more serious!
The good of an ugly situation: I got some cuddle time
The bad of the ugly situation: a sick baby

The next night I told Brandon before we went to bed "it could be a long night!" I fell asleep and woke at at 5:00 and realized I hadn't woken up once! Braylie slept in 2 hours longer than usual!

Sick kids are the worst, especially when you aren't up to par yourself. When my kids have been stuffed up we have them sleep in the swing or carrier so they can sleep more upright.
Hopefully you're all on the mend and will be feeling great soon!
