I guess it is about time for a new post. Nothing exciting has happened.
Brandon went back to school today. He was really not excited about it, especially because he thought he had this week off! :) I have to laugh.. I think it is so funny. He wouldn't have known, but he got an email last week from someone in his program that said see you next week and Brandon was like "what?" so he checked and sure enough they started today! That is such a bummer. I hate when things like that happen! I am sure glad he looked though! He would have missed the first week of school!! :) lol
He is so into football already that I can't even stand it! It is only the beginning too!! It is a good thing that I love him as much as I do! :)
I have been working lots of overtime for work. They offered it and I was not going to turn it down at 25.00/hr! What a burnout! It will go straight to paying some medical bills.. NOT FUN!
Brandon went to his follow up appt with the eye doctor. IT is a lymphangioma In summary, he won't be able to fix his eye completely, it will always be further out than the other one. They can fix it a little, but there is a risk of double vision and that would not be a good thing. That is really basic. Brandon would be able to tell you more! :) Now we have to pray about it and decide if it is worth it! $800 later! LIfe is crazy! :)
Um.. everything else is good. Cara and Matt are going to move here to slc! I am excited for that! Matt is wroking in Draper adn is sick of the commute from Brigham to Draper and home every day. My Dad has an apartment in Ogden now.
I think that is it for now.. will post again if anything exciting happens! :)

Finally home!
Just wanted to give a short little update. I never have pictures, sorry. I just think that they would all be the same! :)
Brandon finally finished up his last week of his internship last week (the 3rd). It was the longest week of my life. It went by so SLOW!! I couldn't figure out how I had done that for 10 weeks! The week felt like 10 weeks! It is just because I knew he was coming home and I was so excited!! The Physical Therapy gave Brandon a nice check when he finished. Too bad that we have med bills to pay!! :) Brandon really wants some golf clubs with it so if anyone knows where to get some nice, cheap ones.. let us know! :)
This week has been great with Brandon home. I can't get out of bed in the mornings to work out now though. he has broken my routine! :)
We went and ate dinner the other night and we both didn't have a thing to say to each other because we are with each other all day even though I am working!
Brandon kept busy last week. We went to his eye appt. WE were there FOREVER just to be told the same things that we have already been told. The doctor wanted him to go get a cat scan and an ultrasound so that they could tell exactly what it was behind his eye. HE got the cat scan, but had to pay our insurance deductible again (our insurance year ended on the 30jun07--brandon was in the hospital for his appendix on june 17-23), so that was not fun. How unlucky is that! Anyway.. he went to get the ultrasound, but our insurance didn't cover that doctor, so we said forget it and dr. anderson's office said that was okay.. they would do it without. We go back on aug 15 and hopefully tell us what is going on! They did tell us that if it is vascular.. it is too risky to do surgery as too much bleeding and could cause blindness. If it is tissue, that is very easy to remove. The doctor said that is what he is hoping it is. I guess all that we can do is wait and see.
Work is good. Brandon starts school on aug 27, 07 and we will see if he can get a little part-time job.
This last weekend we found out my parents are getting divorced. It is really hard, but I think we all saw it coming. I just know that everything will work out the way it needs to be! I just hope that my parents are happy because that is all I want for them both. It kills us all to have to sell the house (my parents) because we all built it together, but we just have to take the memories and move on with life even if it isn't ideal! :)
Okay, so this is not a short update.. sorry!

Brandon is almost done!!
Wow!! It has been quite awhile since I have posted anything! Probably because nothing too exciting has happened and I don't have pictures to post.
Brandon is healing so well. He is pretty much back to normal. The doctor told him he could go back to his daily activities and routine. He has been doing this for awhile. He just told him not to be lifting heavy stuff! His incision looks so good! It is almost completely closed off and starting to scab over. It is finally not draining the infection anymore! The scar will be pretty big and have an indentation, but they said they can go in and fix it if it really bothers him. We will wait to see if it is that bad!
This is Brandon's last week of his internship. He has had a good experience and has really enjoyed it, but he is ready to be done and come home!
Things are good with me. Just working and can't wait till Brandon gets to come home and stay home for good!
I let Brandon take the car and he left me the truck(which we had to put 4 new tires on). It is stick shift and I do not drive those well. We had to go into cottonwood high parking lot and have a lesson. I could not do it. Brandon was getting so frusterated with me. He finally got out and let me try it without him in the car and of course I got it! I still am not very good at it, so I don't go very many places! I have to avoid the hills, otherwise I peel out and make myself look like an idiot! It is actually kind of funny! I am doing better, but it is still interesting. It is a good thing I only have one more week to go with it!
We are still planning on buying my dad's company car (05 chev equinox), but they are totally dragging their feet at getting him a new one, so we might not get it till like sept or oct now. It keeps getting pushed back. I am so glad that we have the truck for now though! What a blessing!!

Our LONG update
I guess I can't get mad at other people not posting on their blog, because I am a slacker myself! :) I have had good intentions, but just haven't done it.
Update on Brandon---
We went back to the doctor the next Tuesday (the 3rd) and The doctor stitched him up, but left holes so that the infection could still drain. It looked so much better and I could actually look at the incision now. It was still weird, but I could! He told us to come back the next week. We weren't really sure how this was going to work with Brandon needing to get back to his internship since he had already taken so much time off. Brandon decided to go up and do his internship on Thursday and Friday and Monday and come home after work Monday night. He had told me that there was some white stuff and my grandma thought that it was the beginning of a scab. We were excited that it was finally starting to heal, but when we went to the doctor on Tuesday (the 10th), he took the stitches out and cleaned all that stuff away. There was an intern in there. He was kind of explaining more to her, but said "his wife doesn't like to look at it open". He said that it is looking really good and it is going to have to heal from the bottom up or inside out. He said that it is going to be a wider scar than usual but it should heal okay and the process for healing is going to take just a little longer than usual.
We got home and Brandon wanted to see what it looked like, so he took the bandage off and it was open again. I wondered if it was that way when the stitches were taken out, but Brandon was worried, so he called and Dr. Vorhees apologized for not explaining himself to us. He said this is what happened when he took the stitches out. It is smaller than it was before! Brandon felt like an idiot, but the doctor was very nice about it. We are supposed to go back in 2 weeks. Hopefully it will start to heal and look even better. The first appt that we went to (on jun 26) we had scheduled a follow up appt on Aug 7. We have now been to the office at least once a week! It has been a very interesting process and it is not over yet either! He is starting to feel a lot better each day. He is slowly gaining his energy back but gets very exhausted by the end of a work day. That surgery has kicked his butt!! I hope he starts to get his full energy back soon!! I have to do all the lifting! He is not even supposed to lift a gallon of milk.. so when the carton is new, someone has to help him pour the milk into his cereal! :) I think that is funny! I would rather him be careful though.
We have an appt for him to see an eye specialist about his eye in August with Dr. Anderson. He is the one that did my eye surgery when I was in High School. He is really nervous about it, but is sick of everyone asking what is wrong with his eye. One eye doctor was really concerned about it and called it exophthalmos. I read up on it and it seems serious, but they have done tests and stuff and said it was okay. I hope it is something simple and that can be easily fixed. The thought of another surgery doesn't make him happy. I don't think that one will be as bad! Our insurance company is going to LOVE us! I was thinking how blessed we are though that we did have to go into the ER, because then we didn't have to pay for the surgery! It is covered 100%. We are being looked out for! It may not seem like it, but when we look back it is easier to see the blessings that come!
Oh yeah.. Brandon's mom cut her finger pretty bad at work and had to go in to the clinic and get stitches. Guess who did them? The same doctor that didn't diagnose Brandon's appendix! He said "Haven't I seen some members from your family recently?" Brandon's dad saw him just a couple days before Brandon. She said "Yeah, my son and my husband. You saw my son, Brandon on Sat night and he was in the ER on Sunday night with a ruptured appendix and had to have an emergency surgery!" She said he just looked at her and didn't say one word! WEIRD!
For the 4th of July, we went to the Logan fireworks (actually on the 3rd). Brandon mostly wanted to go to see the new endzone complex they are building for the football stadium. It really is cool what they are doing. It looks awesome. I just hope that it helps the program a little and they get a little better!!

The fireworks were amazing. I was very shocked. The finale was spectacular!

On the 4th we went to Kaysville and watched the parade with Brandon's brothers family (Brett and Kristi). My family was in Idaho already so we didn't go to Perry celebration. The parade was hot but fun.

We saw the new miss Utah. She served in Afganistan as a medic and serves in Joe's (my brother in law) guard unit. They even went to high school together! She was dressed in her camo and held her crown at her side. I think that is so cool to have someone like that represent Utah!! At the end they have a huge water fight with the firetruck hoses and tons of water going down the street! It is crazy.. we stood back and watched!!
We had our family reunion up in Jackson Hole on the weekend. We couldn't go up till the weekend because of work, so mostly everyone had gone (the reunion started on th3 5th). We left Brigham at like 3:30 and tried to make it to Bar J Wranglers by 7:00 and we made it in the knick of time! It was good food and good entertainment (kind of )!

The next day everyone went white water rafting down the snake river. We didn't go because Brandon couldn't get in the water, so I didn't want to go without him. We just hung out and enjoyed being together!
Brandon has 3 more weeks after this week is over of his internship. It sucks to think that originally tomorrow would be his last day! He has gotten a lot of extra hours during lunches that he has worked and stuff, so I am hoping he will be able to come home mid week of his last week or maybe not have to do the whole week. We will have to see! I can't wait to get things back to normal! He is so sick of driving. I feel so bad! We are switching cars this weekend, so I get to practice this weekend driving the truck. It is stick shift and you guys all know how UN-cordinated I am! It should be very interesting! :)
Work is good for me. We have started doing CHIP and more medicaid programs so it is really challenging, but I still like it! I also get my 3.00 raise so that makes me like it even more! I am enjoying working at home, although I do get distracted very easily! :)
I think that is all for now.. sorry for the very long posting, but hey, at least it has pictures.

Back to the ER we go! :)
So, I already have some funny updates on Brandon!
He was fine and we went to the doctor on Tuesday morning. The doctor took out his stitches and his staples and put long stuff on it and said that it should heal nicely and gave him permission to go down the snake river on our white water rafting trip next weekend (for our family reunion). Brandon was feeling really good. All was well until the next day. I had gone to a lunch with my work and was sure Brandon would be just fine at home by himself. I was almost ready to leave the lunch when Brandon called. He said he was leaking out of his incision. He said it was yellowy blood. I said call Dr. Vorhees and see what he says. He called and Dr. Vorhees wanted us to come in so he could look at it. I told Brandon to put some clothes on and I would come pick him up. He said it was dripping so bad that he coudln't put any clothes on (this is after he had showered). I came home and helped him get dressed and we headed in. He took a culture of it to make sure that it was just the infection and not something else! He said it was what they call "senoma". He bandaged him up again and said he should be just fine.. it is normal to let that stuff come out. We changed the bandages. Brandon luckily had some leftover gauze and tape from one of his classes that I knew we saved for a good reason! Then today I was working and he wanted me to help take off the bandage so that he could shower.. well, we took it off and don't worry that there was a hole in the middle of his incision....it had split open! EW!!! It made me so sick to my stomach.. I about passed out! I had to lay down and put my feet up!! :) We had to get it covered again, so I cut the gauze and had Brandon put it on while I looked away and then I taped it on!! :) I again told him to call Dr. Vorhees. The nurse answered and said he was in surgery and would call when he got out. He called and said he was at the ER and to come in there and he would let them know we were coming. They had us in a different room that they normally don't use, becuase Dr. Vorhees didn't want us to have to check in as a patient (nice doctor). He came and took a look and said it was because of all the infection that Brandon had inside him. It just needs to come home. He said that it wasn't "superficial" and doesn't go very deep. He said he was going to keep it open with a bandage on it so that infection could drain. I can't even look at it anymore.. It is so gross! HE asked if he needed to have a nurse come in and change the bandage, but we said we could handle it. Brandon will just have to put the stuff on it and I can tape it up! He then gave Brandon a abdominal binder to help support it and make him feel more comfortable. We have an appointment to go back and see him on Tuesday and he said if needed, he will put some stitches in it! Sorry, I am not posting a picture of that! I don't even have one...it would make me sick! It is kind of funny to think about me passing out and this whole thing never ending! :)
It is just crazy...something every day! I guess that is what you get when it is something that serious. Brandon had been one sick dude! Poor kid!!
He is doing well, but still doesn't have his full energy back and doesn't feel completely back to normal.
I think this might extend his internship just a little longer because we were thinking that if he has that appt on Tuesday and then wed is the 4th, why go back next week? :) I might get to spend the 4th with him after all!
We were planning to go to St. George this weekend (my cousin is blessing his baby), but Brandon just doesn't feel up to it yet and is nervous to leave! I guess that is pretty understandable with all the complications already!

Poor Brandon!!
So, Brandon got to feeling better during the week, so we didn't think anything was really wrong. Brandon came home the next weekend so that we could celebrate our anniversary (on the 18th). Happy 3 years!! It seems like so much longer than that! That is a good thing, not a bad thing! :) Brandon got off work early and so did I! We met each other in Brigham City and headed up to Logan to try to make it to the USU bookstore before they closed. We made it with 5 minutes to spare. Brandon just wasn't himself. I couldn't figure out why--he acted like he didn't feel good! We went and ate dinner at Ruby Tuesday (where we had our first date). We then went to check into our hotel. It is a little place up the canyon. We pulled in and it was a DIVE and nobody was there! WE decided to just go find another hotel to stay at in Logan. The only thing that Brandon wanted to do was lay down. All the hotels in Logan AND Brigham were booked for a girls softball tournament in Brigham. I said we should just go to one of our parents and we could do the anniversary thing another time. Brandon didn't want to, so we drove to Ogden and stayed in a hotel there. We were both beat and Brandon was in major pain. He hardly even slept through the night! I finally said "you have got to go to the doctor" because it was not normal for Brandon. I made an appt Saturday morning for Brandon to go see the doctor in the Brigham clinic. We thought it could be an ulcer, hernia (he lifted a huge kid onto the table at work), kidney stones, appendicitis (sp?) etc. He went in and the doctor did x-rays and said that he couldn't find anything wrong--none of the above! He said that it was probably just a bug/virus and to eat light to digest better. We continued on during the day and Brandon slept most of it and wasn't a very happy camper--still in a lot of pain! None of us could figure out what was wrong and I thought it was something that would just pass! His pain was all across his lower abdomen. I drove home because he was in so much pain that he couldn't drive. We came home and Brandon got in the tub and felt a lot better. That night (saturday night) he couldn't sleep at all. I woke up and he was not in bed and it freaked me out at first and confused me, but I got up and found him out laying on the couch. He said he could not find a comfortable position to lay in. I went to church for a bit and came and got him and we barely stayed long enough to take the sacrament then went home. We tried to sleep most the day, then went to our Goldsberry Fathers day celebration. Brandon stayed in one position on the couch and I could tell he was in so much pain!! I felt so bad, but I didn't know what to do because the doctor told us he didn't see anything! We came home, loaded with hot pads and stuff from my sis-in-law hoping that the heat would help. I finally decided that it was either insta-Care or the ER! We called and the insta-care was closed, so I came home to get my purse and Brandon wanted to see if he could lay down and get the pain to go away. I didn't know what to do and if it was worth going to the ER. I said a little prayer and almost instantly, felt the feeling that we needed to go to the ER! I told Brandon to get his shoes on.. we were going.. this time he didn't disagree. We got to the ER at 11:40. We waited close to 2 hours waiting. Brandon was just shaking. I was about ready to give up, but I knew that we had to get this checked. they finally took us in and the 1st doctor came in and Brandon told her the symptoms and she immediately pushed on his appendix and Brandon jumped. She was like "sorry man, but I think it is appendix! I hope you aren't planning on doing anything tomorrow!" I thought oh great! So the nurse comes in and drugs him up with morphine and made him drink barium so that things would show up better in the cat scan!At this time I remember that it is our anniversary!! The surgeon comes in and did the same thing and said " We will do a CAT scan, but i would be surprised if it wasn't your appendix! He explained the surgery to us and had us sign all the papers before so they could take him right in! They came in at about 4:45 am and took him to get a Cat scan. I was so glad I had slept a lot during the day, but still super tired by this time and the time just crept along! He came back and about 30 minutes later the doctor came in and said that his appendix had ruptured and looked like he had an abscess with it, so the surgery was a little more extreme. It was like 15 more minutes before they took him into surgery. I was sick to my stomach and so nervous! I went into the waiting room and just started to cry! Brandon said that right before they took him in--it was the worst pain he has ever felt. The anesthesiologist said "okay, just a few minutes" and Brandon said "NO, I NEED IT NOW!!" I sat in the waiting room and thought of all the worst things that could happen and was shaking cus I was so scared. I couldn't help but be just furious at the Brigham doctor because it had obviously ruptured when we had gone to see him! My mom and Brandon's mom are very mad about it too!! It could have killed him!! I hated every time the door would open from the surgery room! Finally, the doctor came out and said it went well and he was able to get everything out, but he could tell that Brandon had been sick for awhile and that he will be in the hospital at least a few days!! I asked if he could tell how long it had been ruptured and he said there is no way to tell, but it had been for awhile! He finally came out of surgery/recovery just a little past 8:00. He said.. "I am so glad that pain is gone". I felt so bad, especially because I didn't do anything about it! We spent the whole day together. Happy Anniversary!!! :) At least it will be a memorable one, and we got to spend it together, which we wouldn't have if he would have gone back to his internship!!

His incision is about 6 inches vertical below his belly button. They had to cut it that way and bigger to get the abscess.

He had antibiotics and morphine pumping through his body like crazy. He was not himself at all.

It really worried me for a bit, but I just wanted to spend every second by his side!! I took Monday and Tuesday off. Then I figured that I needed to work a little if he was going to stay in the hospital longer. I was so stressed and could barely focus to work! All I could do was think about Brandon!! I called him and he said he was in a lot of pain and it made me feel so bad that I started to cry. That is when you know you truly love someone--is when you would gladly take their pain from them!
I came home and slept at night, but still didn't sleep very well. I would go back in the mornings and take walks with him. For the first day he had to just sip water, then he moved on to broth and jello. He wanted to die. It was heaven when he could eat normal food the next day if you can call hospital food normal food! :)

I thought he would be able to come home on wed morning, but nope.. white blood count just a little too high, so I was all excited to have him home on Thursday morning, Nope.. still to high! I was so frusterated. I called my mom and just started crying. Brandon was so not himself and I was so worried he wouldn't be normal again and stressed with him being there and work and I couldn't help but think of the hospital bills. Of course I want him to be okay, but still! We don't have that kind of money right now!
I spent the night with Brandon on Thursday night, cus Brandon said he got lonely at night. I felt so bad! Those hospital chairs SUCK to sleep in!
On Friday I went to work and traded my phone shifts because I thought for sure he would be coming home. I kept calling him and the doctor (sub doctor--the other one was on vacation by now) had not come in to check on him! It was like 3:00 and he had not come yet! I lost it and started getting so mad! I could barely make it through the end of work. He was ready to come home.. he finally felt better and was doing everything that he was supposed to. He was sick of being there and so was I. I wanted him to be home and be comfortable and in his own place. and I tried not to think of the bills, but I couldn't help it. Everyone was very surprised that he was still there. My sister in law told me to just be forceful and tell them "we want info". I was not going to pay for another day just because the dr was too busy to come see him and without any reason or explanation why we were still there. I went in after work and asked the nurse (very nicely) why the doctor hadn't come and what the heck we were waiting for to go home. I told her how frusterated I was. She said she would go call the doctor. She came back and said he wasn't answering, but would keep trying.By this time, Brandon's IV was falling out and I said "okay.. this is a sign.. we need to go home!" Nothing for awhile and a new nurse came in and I asked again.. she said she would call again and within 15 minutes she came back and said we were okay to go. It was 9:00 on Friday night! I was so excited!!!
We came home and Brandon said the last thing he wanted to do was get in a bed and he wanted a rocking chair to sit in. Tai had said we could come get theirs. Joe (her husband) is gone for the guard and Brandon of course couldn't lift, so me and Tai carried a reciner up 3 flights of stairs for Brandon! :) He finally had a good night sleep (kind of). We slept till 11:30 the next day because we were both so beat! :)
He kept throwing up and couldn't keep anything down! Poor kid! I felt so bad! My mom and Dad went and bought him some pedialyte and soda crackers. He wanted an ice cream and a jamba juice. He finally was able to eat it. Then the next day, he felt great! the incision is still a bit iffy, which is understandable, but the pain is gone and he feels great! Just a little slow! :)
I am just so glad that he is feeling so much better and he is starting to become himself again!! Hooray!! He says now he will know what my labor pains and being pregnant feels like? Hmmm, I don't know about that! :)
He will probably take the rest of this week off too to recover and then go back to his internship which extends it another 2 weeks. Oh well, I have got to have him home! We go see the doctor tomorrow and he will probably get his staples and stitches out. Everyone has been so great to help!!
What an unexpected experience, but I am so glad that everything worked out and that we have good insurance to cover it all!! (the surgery is covered through ER and we only have to pay 10 % of the stay). I learned that we need these experiences in our lives so that we can grow stronger and closer to our spouse and learn that our lives are not going to go on without any trials!

This is the almost back to normal Brandon! :)

jackson hole trip!
Hey everyone, it has been awhile since I posted anything! I think it is because I felt like I was being really boring. I wanted to wait to post stuff till I had some pictures to post! I finally have some stuff to post! This one might be a long one, but that is okay, at least it will have some pictures.
I went up to see Brandon a couple weeks ago. While I was there, we met Matt and Elise and went up to Jackson Hole and did some shopping. Here are a few pictures of us there. We had a lot of fun!!
We went back early and we had a dutch-oven dinner with Grandma and Grandpa. Sorry, forgot to take pictures. Brandon started not feeling very good. He said that his stomach hurt really bad!! We thought it was just indigestion and stomach problems, so we got him some medicine to help it. It started to feel better and I was so glad! I felt bad leaving him while he didn't feel very good! It always sucks to say goodbye!
It was good to have someone to ride with this time though! Thanks to Matt and Elise!!
P.S. Someone needs to show me how to post pictures! I am retarded! :)
